For just about any generation, it can be said that Superman is arguably the very pinnacle of superhero recognition and acclaim. Now imagine being one of the select few actors given an opportunity to re-energize such an iconic franchise. That's the exact situation actor Michael Shannon currently finds himself in as fans salivate over the latest General Zod -centric tv spot. Superman will definitely face some stacked odds on June 14th. Said Shannon on the project, "It's a nice feather in my cap, for sure. It's not anything I ever imagined I would be a part of and I'm still trying to process it really. When I started acting, I never thought I would be in a Superman movie so it's pretty neat. I did some big blockbusters before, but never this prominent a role."

Shannon went on to add, "I can't fathom how people would say no to Man Of Steel. I thought they were pulling my leg... Then I got on set, and realized they were serious. I had no qualms about doing it. I loved it. It was a blast. I don't think Zack has anything to worry about. I got to see it and I'm really bowled over by what he did. I think it's really special."

The Mandarin approves.

And I approve of the Mandarin.

Also, your sorority letter reading was the best video of the year.

This Zod is truly going to be a villain, a villain that will have no mercy.

Dang I am so excited for this movie!!!! Hands down CBM of the year. And there is so much buzz and excitement every on this movie. I hate to say it but this may put all my beloved Batman movies to shame, but I am fine with that since Supes is the king!

Really resistance from what actors? I know Disney and Marvel Studios are rumored to be hard to work for or they are greedy when it comes to paying their actors. But personally I never really heard of any resistance, can you give me some examples?

Yea Shannon is pretty much why I'm looking forward to this movie...I am worried about him saying "I don't think Zack has much to worry about..." Doesn't sound super super confident about this...but it could be paranoia

@DoubleDion Do you really have to bash Marvel right now in a Man of Steel article, like really?

@DoubleDion... Green Lantern is a visual eye candy but the problem lies in the story. I think they can still save it by adding a new character in John Stewart and Ryan Reynolds will appear only in a cameo role.

Thanks I know this is being biased but JLA is the best team ever. I would crap my pants when I see the JLA on the big screen!

And yes I was very jealous and happy when I saw the Avengers on the big screen. But I am happy now because I know MOS is going to finally jump start things.

Thanks man I really appreciate that, the amazing part is how me and boys will sit there for hours quizzing each others on super heroes and villains out he Marvel and DC encyclopedias. We love both DC and Marvel I am a little bit more a DC guys and my oldest is a Marvel fan (though his favorite superhero is The Flash).

Anyways that is why I crack up at certain Marvelites on this site that call me a DC Fanboy that knows nothing about Marvel.
