Night Raiders': First Clip From Apocalyptic Sci-Fi – Deadline

We'll start with the first footage from a new dystopian sci-fi film which has its world premiere as part of this year’s Berlin Panorama program, Night Raiders.

The film, which is executive produced by Thor: Love and Thunder director Taika Waititi, is set in the year 2043, in "a dystopian future where a military occupation controls disenfranchised cities in post-war North America. Children are considered property of the regime which trains them to fight. A desperate Cree woman joins an underground band of vigilantes to infiltrate a State children’s academy and get her daughter back."

We can't embed Deadline's player, so you'll have to click here to check out the clip.

Berry recently wrapped another sci-fi project, Roland Emmerich's Moonfall, which co-stars Patrick Wilson and Michael Peña.

Has Warner Bros. Renewed Superman Discussion with Michel B. Jordan?

WB Reportedly Wants Michael B. Jordan To Lead Superman Reboot

Yesterday, the news that Warner Bros. is in the process of developing a new Superman movie with J.J. Abrams and writer Ta-Nehisi Coates broke, and it was later confirmed that the studio is indeed looking for a Black actor to play the Man of Steel.

Michael B. Jordan is said to have had discussions about a potential Superman reboot when he first signed with WB in 2019, and the trades believe he could still be on the studio's radar. Now, Giant Freakin' Robot is reporting that WB is "actively pursuing" the Black Panther star for the role.

To be honest, this sounds more like speculation to us based on the details initially provided by the trades, but the source has had some scoops pan out in the past, so we figured it was worth covering. We'll keep you guys updated if more info comes our way.

Elijah Wood Takes Issue With The Title Of Amazon's Lord Of The Rings Series

The Bane of Banality: Frodo Baggins | Tor.com

Elijah Wood, who played Frodo Baggins in Peter Jackson's The Lord of the Rings trilogy, is a little confused about the title of Amazon's upcoming spinoff series, which takes place thousands of years before the events of J.R.R. Tolkien's classic novels.

“I find it bizarre that they’re calling it Lord of the Rings as a shorthand, because it’s not Lord of the Rings," said the actor during a recent interview with Empire. "It takes place in the Second Age of Middle-earth. I am fascinated by what they’re doing with the show. They’re calling it The Lord of the Rings, but I think that’s slightly misleading. From what I understand, the material they are working on exists chronologically further back in history in lore of Lord of the Rings or Middle-earth than any characters represented in Lord of the Rings. It sounds more Silmarillion era. Not to get nerdy, but it’s the Second Age of Middle-earth.”

Of course, Wood is correct. But, if we could get a bit nerdy ourselves for a minute, Sauron was known as "the Lord of the Rings" long before he lost the One Ring to Isildur in battle, and since an earlier incarnation of the Dark Lord is expected to feature in Amazon's series, there is still some connection to TLOTR title.

Cobra Kai Season 4 Officially Enters Production

Production on the fourth season of Netflix's Cobra Kai is officially underway.

The show's Twitter account has shared the cover page of the script for the first episode, which is titled "Let's Begin."

Season 3 ended with Johnny (William Zabka) and Danny (Ralph Machio) joining forces and combining their dojos in an effort to counteract the machinations of Kreese (Martin Kove), who called in some mysterious backup in the finale. Unfortunately, Robby (Tanner Buchanan) now seems to be fully under the sway of his ruthless new sensei, and has all-but turned his back on both his father and former mentor.

There's a lot of speculation that this will be the final season, but that's yet to be confirmed.

Tom & Jerry Is Now Playing In Theaters And On HBO Max

Tom and Jerry on HBO Max: How to watch, release date, cast - CNET

Arriving a little earlier than expected, the live-action Tom & Jerry (the titular duo are still animated, of course) movie is now playing in theaters and is available to stream on HBO Max.

Chloë Grace Moretz (Kick-Ass, Let Me In) stars as Kayla, a wedding planner who hires Tom to capture Jerry and keep him from causing trouble when the rambunctious rodent moves into New York City’s finest hotel on the eve of an important wedding.

Warner Bros. has released a new TV spot, which you can check out below.

First reactions have not been kind, but Tom & Jerry looks like a fun flick to watch with the family over the weekend.

Solo Scarecrow Movie Rumored To Be In The Works At Warner Bros.

Scarecrow | DC

Finally, we have another rumor from the guys over at Giant Freakin' Robot, who are claiming that a solo Scarecrow movie is in development at Warner Bros.

Apparently, the studio is looking to capitalize on the success of Joker by giving Jonathan Crane the spotlight in his own R-rated movie, which would (presumably) also exist in its own "Elseworlds" universe separate from the main DCEU.

We're going to be taking this with a healthy dose of salt, but again, the source has had some recent scoops pan out, so we're giving them the benefit of the doubt for the time being.

Would you guys even be interested in a Scarecrow movie? Let us know in the comments section.

Jordan would be an obvious choice and I'll watch anything that man is in. But I really liked BlackBeltJones' suggestion of Eli Goree for Supes.

Scarecrow movie sounds wack. Somebody fire Hamada.

But if Superman is the same shared universe as The Batman, then re-hire him and give him a bonus for it.

Then fire him again for Scarecrow.

Scarecrow is an interesting one that would world very similar to Joker (2019) IMO. It's a man who has spent his entire life abused and bullied who wants to use fear to finally be bigger than those who abused him.

Personally, I think a Lex Luther movie starring Donald Glover would be sick

Of course they would make a Scarecrow movie...

@TheUnworthyThor - I'd much rather see a movie where Lex rises to power and ends with him sitting in the Oval Office.

I don't care with which character, just make a villain movie with a Joker-similar take!

Cool characters who could be revisioned (imo):

Two-Face

Red Hood

I want my Henry cavil sequel, I doubt I’d watch another superman just to have diversity thrown in my face

@ManofSteel23 - Bond and Kal El will never be black...Superman and 007 might be at some point since those are titles and more than one individual can fill the role. If they suddenly change that and Clark suddenly changes race in a visual medium like film then it undermines 80+ years of established history with the character and leaves the door open to race swap any established black character. So I wouldn't be too woried about this black superman film (if true) being centered on Clark Kent. Just like if there was a black 007, it wouldn't be about Bond...and it's been well documented during Craig's tenure and before that Bond isn't a codename.

@Canon108 - I don't understand why he just can't play Steel or another Black superhero like Icon.

Not hating MBJ but allot of people will have an issue with this movie if it does happen.

@ManofSteel23 - it’s not like there aren’t great super hero stories to be told,Blue Marvel or Icon would be amazing but as far as rebooting Superman I hate the idea and then making him a black guy for the sake of it is just a horrible idea and I honestly hope that it falls in development he’ll with the ninety million other movies and series they got coming

@Tpo81 - like this Batman who is black

I personally wouldn’t mind if there is black Superman he appeared in comics first black Superman I’m all for it as Bruce Wayne said in detective comics future state Batman is not person under mask but is name and title legacy same with spiderman Ironman captain America black panther those are names but person under mask is who defines legacy makes it live on

@dragon316 - "I personally wouldn’t mind if there is black Superman"

Black Superman like Calvin Ellis or Val Zod...or Black Kal-El/Clark Kent? These are two VERY different things.

Tpo81 - 2/28/2021, 9:27 AM
@dragon316 - I’m glad ur happy with it but to me Superman will always be Clark Kent & Batman will be Bruce Wayne.Their stories are as important as the heroes they represent.I mean this picture of lucious fox is a cool pic but a shitty Batman who I could care less about and same goes for Calvin whatever his last name is as Superman No desire to either brought to the big screen.especially when there’s plenty of Clark’s story still to be told
