Allison Mack, the actress most known as plucky computer-whiz sidekick, Chloe Sullivan, on Smallville has confirmed that she will NOT be returning to the show as a series regular in its tenth and final season. She has, however, confirmed that she will instead be returning as a recurring guest character to clear up Chloe's remaining story in the Smallville universe.

“It’s amazing to think that Chloe Sullivan and I have been one in the same for over a third of my life,” says Mack in an exclusive statement. “I’m truly humbled by the love and loyalty of all the fans whose enthusiasm has carried me — along with a cast and crew which has become my second family — over the past 9 and a half years. Out of respect for the amazingly loyal fans and the place I will always have in my own heart for Chloe, I’m coming back for several episodes next season to tie up Chloe’s Smallville legacy properly."

Well, it looks like we don't have much left to see of Chloe. This is a definite confirmation that this season is going to be unlike any the show has seen before.

You know what, say what you want about the character, but that's a classy chick.

theres no goodbye. she said she will be on. they can bring her back for half the episodes and it will be fine. thats what they do with alot of the characters. when arrow showed up in his first season it was the same deal. he was in about half the episodes and it worked out fine.

It will be sad to not see her in the opening this year, though. It will be the first time we don't see Allison and her huge smile. I may not be the biggest Chloe fan, but I'm honestly a little sad to see this happening. She was SO close to being right there with Tom Welling, through the whole thing.

It's not like they offed her or something. She decided to not to come back and I think it's better this way. They can spend her salary on something more productive like fight scenes, costumes, and luring back Michael for at least two episodes.

The truth is, Chloe's been over done. It think her fans should be happy that she wasn't whacked off and take it for what it's worth...unless they whack her off.

I'm not a fan, I'm not a real hater, but I'm not going to miss her. I do wish her better things, such as not doing trash like Legend of Chun-Li or something like that.

I actually liked Chloe's role. Who is going to run the Watchtower/JLA technical operations now? Oliver? Does he have time to do so? Seems to me there will be a major piece missing now, but I guess we will assume someone else will fill that role somehow.

Ranger14-Martian Manhunter can run Watchtower. He did so in the Justice League cartoon and he did so in the comics so it is not far fetched.
