Now, onto new spoilers, and let’s start with the most intriguing!

Brian Peterson had dinner with Michael Rosenbaum, says Ausiello:

"Tess Mercer is going to be in big trouble come season opener. She will be fighting Major Zod [the younger pre-General version], and she may be chewing more than she can handle. Tells Cassidy Freeman – “She has to figure out whether she’s screwed the pooch or whether she’s doing a good thing. She hasn’t figured it out yet, but she absolutely will."

Several guests from the DC universe will appear in the early episodes – Roulette and Toyman maybe some of them.

Producers Kelly Sounders and Brian Peterson are hinting that Jor-El may re-appear.

Season nine is Clark’s darkest hour. We’ll find out why Clark isn’t flying(yet).

Oliver ends up in a seedy club in Havana (his downward spiral) and later chased by a drug kingpin. He ends up being saved by his on-again, off-again associates and romantic partners.

Clark and Lois interview a man who was held hostage. Clark wears a tuxedo and bow tie, while Lois is in an elegant cocktail dress as to gain entrance into the Ace of Clubs for an investigation.

Clark might get a new power to hear other people’s thoughts!

I really dont know if I should watch this. the last season I watched was season 5 and Smallville has always been a show ill watch on DVD and not when its on TV. Ive always had an interest (Especially when Geoff Johns started writing the show) but ive just stoped following it (and im a BIG superman fan). Think its worth getting back into?

I don't know why they ended last season with a whimper after such a great year long build-up! It was like they ran out of money for FX for the big Supes-Doomsday showdown.

I like the darker tone they're taking this year with the others, and Supes in the darker outfit before he gets completely to the light of being Superman in the Red, Blue and gold.

I sure hope the show runners and writers can pull their Krap together this year!

@Thedarkknight, I do believe Supes had the power to read thoughts in some of the DC storylines, if I remember right?

Smallville is now and will always be my favorite show on television. While no one season has been entirely bad, as of late the show does seem to have taken a noticeable downturn. Last season was outrageously horrific with much of its plot line and acting (notable exceptions being the Legion and Hex episodes, and the ever growing relationship between Clark and Lois), and I fear for this season as well. I mean, a new power to read people's thoughts... that's basically turning him into the Martian Manhunter (who'd I'd love to see more of in the series)! Superman DOES NOT have the ability to read other peoples thoughts.

The show has been outstanding in its run, and there has been a fair amount of good and bad in the series. Personally, I believe that no show should be without bad, cause then it tends to loose all sense of realism. Even so, Smallville should call it a day. It's past its prime and is seriously loosing ground in believability.

None-the-less, I will continue to be a devoted fan and watch every episode I can (partially because with each new season comes more DC cameos which have been really hitting home me), and if the show ever needs support, it can count on me to be in its corner. Oh, and for the record, Smallville is awesome, and I urge others to pay no heed to those who claim otherwise!

Last season wasn't a complete washout, there were good episodes. But when the last few eps in a season are bad it tends to taint the whole thing.

Also in the article it says..

"Brian Peterson had dinner with Michael Rosenbaum, says Ausiello:"...

Then goes on to talk about Tess..theres nothing about Rosenbaum or Lex!

I agree Gandalf, Martian Manhunter is amazing in Smallville..even if he hasn't been shown as the green dude we all know and love..yet??

I come with low expectations for this season. Helps to enjoy it more.

Way I heard it was that Rosenbaum said a definite no to any reappearance as Lex for the time being.

Power to hear other people's thoughts? WTF??? Next superpower he will have is throwing the "S" or adamantium bullets or something insane like that. But amazingly I still have an open mind when it comes to the new series
HouserepresentativeZod
HouserepresentativeZod - 9/8/2009, 3:23 PM
As we all know when he throws the candy wrapper "S" it is a minor inconvenience.

I hope the "power to hear other people’s thoughts" is a one off power where someone has artificially made it so he can hear it. Then looses it when he punches the bad guy through a wall. SUPERMAN AHOY.

His next power: The power to put down the toilet seat.
One of the only good things the last season introduced was a new location for watchtower (chloe).

Yeah, bring back Toyman, He was terrific in that one episode. The plot for the Oliver episode also sounds good.

Stop bashing Smallville! I LOVE it! Especially when the Doctor was fighting the Daleks and the Cybermen at the same time, and they start fighting each other and..
wait, that's a different show..
nevermind. Smallville sucks...

We will all find out in 17 days. Smallville has been known to have really good Final episodes and Season openers, except for last season. Lets hope the Sept. 25th opener will have us fans hooked.

I think the whole Zod/Tess/Kandor plot looks ridiculous. Making Superman a psychic is insane. Maybe it's time to clean house and fire all the writers.

After seeing Jimmy die, Clark wear black and silver and now potentially reading peoples minds if this is to be believed, I'm starting to think more and more that Smallville is based on Superboy Kon-El or even Superboy Prime (wiki them if you need to know). Just seems like the writers are taking parts from various different Superman Mythos' and mixing them together, which I don't think can bode too well :/

Micheal has to come back pretty please, mind powers can go away thank you :P
Oceandeep
Oceandeep - 9/11/2009, 2:41 PM
Well, I for one...think the mind reading will be a one off. come-on guys, could make for some 'lighter' moments in the show. Just imagine, he can hear what Lois really thinks about him.....

Oh and I'm a loyal and true fan of Smallville

Thanks for the 'read' :)
