UPDATE: THR has updated its original story and are now reporting that Pom Klementieff is not joining the film's cast, as per director/writer James Gunn, but it appears that Miriam Shor may indeed be in early talks to join Superman: Legacy in a mystery role.
It looks like some more Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 cast members will be heading to Metropolis soon as The Hollywood Reporter has learned that Pom Klementieff and Miriam Shor have joined the cast of James Gunn's Superman: Legacy.
Further details on their parts are being kept under wraps, but, in an interesting twist, Gunn has already taken to Threads to deny the report and says that neither Klementieff nor Shor has been cast in the film, although he does admit that he wouldn't mind adding, at least, one of them to the DCU if he had a role in mind for them.
He says, "Despite Pom being one of my favorite actors to work with, this is not true. Not only is Pom Klementieff not in the movie, but no one has ever even discussed her being in the movie, nor do I have any idea what role she would possibly play. I have no idea where this came from," before adding, "Miriam isn't presently cast either, but I'd love to find a place for her."
If the report proves to be true, the pair would join a cast headlined by David Corenswet and Primetime Emmy-winner Rachel Brosnahan as Clark Kent and Lois Lane, respectively. The supporting cast consists of Nicholas Hoult ("Lex Luthor"), Skyler Gisondo ("Jimmy Olsen"), Sara Sampaio ("Eve Teschmacher"), Isabela Merced ("Hawkgirl"), Edi Gathegi ("Michael Holt/Mister Terrific"), Nathan Fillion ("Guy Gardner/Green Lantern"), Anthony Carrigan ("Rex Mason/Metamorpho"), María Gabriela de Faría ("Angela Spica/Engineer"), and Sean Gunn ("Maxwell Lord").
Klementieff is best known for her role as Mantis in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, having played the role in five films and a TV special over the past six years. She most recently appeared as Paris in Tom Cruise's action blockbuster Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part One this past summer, again receiving rave reviews for her performance, and her past credits also include Westworld, Uncut Gems, and Black Mirror.
Klementieff also made a quick cameo in Gunn's The Suicide Squad in 2021, so there's reason to believe he may have a similar cameo in mind for her here and doesn't want it spoiled, hence the quick denial. However, regardless of whether she's in the film or not, she is currently filming Mission: Impossible 8, and would likely only be able to join Superman: Legacy once she wraps filming the Christopher McQuarrie-directed sequel.
Shor played the villainous Recorder Vim in GOTG Vol. 3 and her recent credits include, but are not limited to, Maestro, American Fiction, Younger, Mrs. America, and The Americans. She was also generous enough to sit down with us for an exclusive interview earlier this year, which you can find embedded at the end of this article.
Superman: Legacy is scheduled to hit theaters on July 11, 2025.
