Cool! It's the third best Superman movie this far. I didn't hate it, but it didn't do anything special for me. It's good to watch though. Shame they didn't feature this. The child was just dumb. Superman Returns had so much potential. Looking forward to Superman 'True' RETURNS!

Isn't Krypton blown up? Also wouldn't it hurt him to go there?

I'm one of the maybe 20 people in the world that liked thsi movie! Although it wasn't THE Superman movie we should have got, for what it was I thought it was very well made.

And why exactly did it take so long for these to be released (or leaked)?

The movie wasn't too bad, just boring. And the fact that Brandon Routh was forced to kind of portray Christopher Reeve as Superman didn't help.

I just want to know why Superman needed a space ship to get to his home planet??? Doesn't he fly in space all the time?

@brilaneb - kryptonite, anyone?

5 years later they release this... Thank [frick] they're rebooting, that being said Returns had potential, its just Clark and Lois were too young, for a 'returns after 5 years' story and they stuck to some shitty out dated genre conventions... Still if they kept the Krypton scenes it would've been at least a bit more entertaining... Nice find!
If u got the chance though, check out my Assassin's Creed fan cast!

I may be one of the few people that actually enjoyed this film

maybe it was too much of a tribute to the Donner Films and yes Superman went EMO

But it was still a good story

One of the most boring superhero movies ever. Not a single punch was thrown.

If you loved the early Donner flicks, which I do, I can't see how you wouldn't at least understand what Singer was trying to do. He loved them too, and admits that he was TOO in awe of them when making this, but it's not a bad film, you might think it's a bad Superman film..but there are some really great scenes in there and I thought Routh was great..if a bit too calm.

Now we will get the inevitable: "Superman isn't a stalker, he lifts a planet of Kryptonite, the kid sucked!" etc etc.

I liked the movie and championed Routh's return...this looks grand!

I thought it was because the kryptonite only hurt him under the yellow sun because it change the kryptonite like it changes him.

thWord and ThreeBigTacos:
Kryptonite does hurt Superman. What it is is radioactive pieces of his home world from his travel through space to Earth. If he were to go to Krypton, his normal home world would not harm him at all, but Kryptonite does. There are different variations of the explanation, things like the pieces of Krypton traveling through cosmic clouds or the Earth's atmosphere changing it, but either way, yes Kryptonite does hurt him.

I don't care what any one says about this movie, it was way better the Superman III and IV.

Kryptonite hurts him when the yellow sun is present. when it is not it does not. get it?

@ ROR i agree with you. Im another one that really liked the movie. I understand the frustrations that people have however i was able to look past it and see the potential that a sequel to this would have had. FOr what this movie was and was meant to be......HIS RETURN...it was very well made. the sequel woould have been more epic than XMEN FIRST CLASS...

I wish they would have kept all the deleted scenes in place. it would have been a longer movie but i think that the deleted scenes were scenes that gave the movie depth. Also, i dont know if you ever read the book based on the movie but one of the things that i liked about it was when clark went into the storage closet at the daily planet and opened his luggage for a moment and his costume was in there. he wasnt wearing it. So when he was having a drink with jimmy at the pub and then has to leave suddenly to rescue lois...he rips his shirt open and remembers/realizes that he doesnt have his costume on and has to rush back to the daily planet for it. also i noticed that the boy wasnt suggested as clarks son in the book.

I really wish that WB had let SINGER stay on to give us a sequel or two. People will slam me for saying so but its all good.

ITBEGINS2005 ...WELL PUT....AND THERE HAVE BEEN SEVERAL WRITERS FOR SUPERMAN SINCE THE BEGIGINNING AND NOT ALL HAVE COINCIDED SO WE CANT REALLY ARGUE THAT POINT.....POINT BLANK THINGS WE CANNOT CHANGE ARE THAT KRYPTONITE IS POISONOUS TO SUPERMAN AND THE YELLOW SUN STREGTHENS HIM.

They could of done Brainiac, Brainiac could of attached itself to Superman's ship and crashed landed on Earth Lex Luthor found it and Brainiac earned more intelligence killed Lex which sets up a sequel for Cadmus Labs and Superboy and at least Superman fights someone instead getting kicked by Lex the whole time
