THE SUPERMAN KISS: Robot Chicken Clip From DC Special

THE SUPERMAN KISS: Robot Chicken Clip From DC Special

One of the dopiest moments from Superman II was the magical kiss that Clark lays on Lois Lane at the end that conveniently makes her forget exactly what he wants her to. In this clip from Robot Chicken's DC Special airing tomorrow night, they try and turn that negative into a positive.

NorseDog,

One of the dopiest moments from Superman 1, is where he doesn't get to Lois in time, so he flies around the Earth so fast he literally turns the clock back on the entire planet. As an added insult, the movie never explains whether Superman then stops the second missile from hitting California, while the original version of himself is still sending the first missile on a one way trip into space. Did the two Supermen who exist on Earth at the same time then shake hands while one faded into nothingness? That climactic solution creates plot holes of infinite width and depth, impossible to fill, yet it's only that the rest of the film is so good that the audience is more than happy to disengage their brains by that stage and accept that not only can this man fly, but hey, why couldn't he also be able to turn the clock back if he wants to?

In the Donner cut of Superman 2, inexcusably, Donner uses this exact same time travel plot solution again at the end, to the extent that the entire events of the movie just watched, never ever occurred! We can forgive Donner once, but not twice for the same super stupidity and the same super oversights asked of the audience. Heck, Donner's Superman isn't just super, he can be and should be, absolutely perfect because whenever he screws up, he just takes himself back in time before the screw up and does something different! Every day can be goundhog day for him if he wants it to be, and he can literally live eternally if he wants to. Thankfully, movie viewing audiences have matured and are no longer entertained by sheer silliness.

I always liked the magical super kiss, but I totally enjoy how Robot Chicken takes this also silly super power and plot solution to all it's logical conclusions!
