Variety reports that following its huge opening in North America this weekend, Paramount Pictures are celebrating the occasion with the announcement of a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles sequel. It will be released on June 3rd, 2016, and while there's currently no word on whether director Jonathan Liebesman will return, Michael Bay is set to return as producer and screenwriters Josh Appelbaum and André Nemec are set to write. The movie held off stiff competition this weekend from Guardians of the Galaxy as the latest release from Marvel Studios would earn $41.5 million in comparison to Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles' $65 million. How do you feel about this news, and what did you think of the movie? Starring Megan Fox, Pete Ploszek, Johnny Knoxville, Noel Fisher, Jeremy Howard, Alan Ritchson, Danny Woodburn, Tony Shalhoub, William Fichtner, Will Arnett, and Whoopi Goldberg, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is out now!

This is [frick]ing retarded.

@AlphaandDecima how about we burn this franchise to the ground? Megan Fox as a journalist destined to find the turtles? [frick] NO.

Phil Lord & Chris Miller isn't touching this turd of a franchise.

Saw it yesterday.......

2 really good action scenes, but the acting was on the edge of cringe-worthy. Every single joke basically got no reaction from the audience, except for that elevator scene (which I think was pretty creative).

@AlphaandDecima Michael Bay tackling our childhood doesn't work with his sensibilities (well, maybe for this site). He has final say on everything in this franchise; I rather see him do non-Transformers stuff like working on a sequel to the [frick]ing insane Bad Boys II or just an original project.

non-childhood stuff*

Oh okay cool for them still will not see this movie or any other schlock that Michael Bay has his hands in either as director or producer. Especially after he said this arrogant comment I will definitely never see one of his movies again.
“They love to hate and I don’t care; let them hate,They’re still going to see the movie! I think it’s good to get a little tension. Very good.”

So ya Michael Bay can suck a dick and I will never see his movies again.

Great, the movie was entertaining and just as stupid as the old ones.

And great for Guardians too, it has the biggest second weekend of the year leaving Cap2 in 2nd place

The turtles look pretty horrifying, especially the one on the far right with the purple.

Saw it yesterday. It gets a big OK. Turtles were perfect (Though had a couple wtf moments), Fox as April was ehhhh. Arnett was forgettable, Shredder was really cool though the costume was an over-complicated mess. I don't know what the [frick] Whoopi was doing in this film. Fichtner was alright, nothing special. The fight scenes were awesome, but the CGI on the turtles wasn't as impressive as it should've been.

With all that said, I have zero anticipation for the sequel.

This movie was good. Not great. Not awesome. Just good. I enjoyed and I'm happy I'm getting a sequel. Now if it won't hurt too much, please Paramount ensure that the sequel is on par or better. Please

ok guys if there doing a sequel here's what they have to fix no more corny jokes have the humor yes but don't have something like fart jokes introduce the turtles within the first five or ten minutes , give each turtle a personality , don't use the shredder again use someone like the krang and finally introduce casey jones

Ah, this childhood thing again.
I grew up with the old cartoon too, then watched the Turtles Forever movie and realized how stupid they were (And i like the 2003 series better).
Every animated series they made and the original comics all had differences, but i'm happy if the core of the Turtles stays the same.

I watched the 2003 series as a child (along with DCAU stuff) and I remember the main Shredder episodes: the one where he was introduced, the one where they show the origins, the one where Leonardo gets completely [frick]ed up and the one where they cut off his head.
