TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES Set: Times Square Braces For Impact (Videos & Pics)

Yesterday, the Michael Bay-produced Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles was spotted filming in New York's Time Square. The sequences involved lots of debris strewn about the set, with extras instructed to throw themselves to the ground based on an imaginary impact.

Twitter user, Redwingx, has posted photos and a rather interesting account of what took place on the Times Square set of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles yesterday.

In any case, I got there just as they were filming what appeared to be a major disaster / explosion / crash / building collapse. While there were no *actual* explosions, there was (fake) wreckage everywhere, (fake) cops everywhere, a (fake) firetruck and crew, and extras were throwing themselves on the ground and pretending to only painfully pull themselves up. In short, it was awesome!!

I love, love, love seeing all the behind-the-scenes stuff so this was just awesome. They'd yell "Rolling!" and the people would all look up and point and then the director would do this countdown, "3-2-1... IMPACT!" and on "Impact!" everyone would run or throw themselves to the ground and cameras would close up on them on the pavement or film them running by. It was controlled chaos.

Also, at the very bottom of this article you will see a newly discovered image of Megan Fox and Will Arnett filming an action sequence for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. This most likely took place a month ago because this is the Sands Point Preserve set. Either way, it's new to me, which means it's new to you. Yahoo!

Looks like Krang and the Technodrome might play a part in this.

I doubt it will happen, but I would love to see the TMNT return to their original dark and violent comic book form. I guess they're going to keep the "cowabunga" screaming pizza loving turtles because that appeals most to the general audience, but that's not how they started. I'm still interested in seeing this though.

I have a question for knowledgable Turtle fans....Is there or has there ever been a romantic relationship between April and Will Arnett's character? Can it happen or would it be out of character for them? Are they just co-workers/friends?

Has it come to the point where Bay now uses digital explosions?

Will Arnett is the camera guy from the cartoons. They might end up adding Casey to TMNT 2 if the series gets enough traction, which is probably will.

yep, they cut teenager casey jones from the original script... and replace him with will arnett.. so it dosen't look so much like transformers... but they kept the other bad stuff... (military schredder, big krang invasion at the end...) it is a michael bay movie.. of course it would have explosions!

Is it confirmed that Krang is in the movie? At the moment, nobody confirms it.
