TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES: Seth Rogen's Animated Reboot Gets A Release Date

There's a lot of excitement surrounding the upcoming Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles reboot, and producer Seth Rogen (Invincible) has now revealed the release date along with a cool little teaser image...

It's been confirmed today that the heroes in a half shell will return to theaters in 2023. Seth Rogen took to Twitter to reveal that the CG-animated Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles reboot will arrive on August 11, 2023, and the actor and filmmaker even shared a glimpse inside Leonardo's notebook.

That doesn't reveal much in terms of plot details, but you'll see some jokes about Raphael, Michelangelo and Donatello, along with their friend April O'Neil (who is presumably confirmed for this movie now, which is no great surprise when the reporter has appeared in pretty much every iteration of the franchise).

Brendan O’Brien (Neighbors) penned the screenplay, while Rogen is producing alongside Evan Goldberg.

Jeff Rowe, who co-directed and wrote Netflix's The Mitchells vs. the Machines, is set to helm Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, so there's arguably a much better creative team behind this reboot than the last two live-action efforts. They were produced by Michael Bay, and didn't really prove to be a hit with fans.

Returning to the franchise's animated roots is definitely interesting, and it's a shame in some ways that Paramount Pictures isn't considering another live-action take on the iconic team of ninjas.
