Grant Gustin & John Wesley Shipp Spotted On The Set of THE FLASH

The Flash series officially began production this past Sunday. The two flashes were spotted on the set in Vancouver earlier this week, both sporting red clothing. What do you guys think?

Granted, Grant is not in costume but the choice of clothing on John Wesely Shipp is interesting. It could be just speculation, but the red hoodie could reveal that his character, is in fact, Jay Garrick.

The Flash is an upcoming American television series developed by writer/producers Greg Berlanti, Andrew Kreisberg and Geoff Johns, to air on The CW. It will be based on the DC Comics character Flash (Barry Allen), a costumed crime-fighter who was created by Robert Kanigher, John Broome and Carmine Infantino. It is intended to be a spin-off to Arrow, existing in the same universe. A pilot, to be written by Berlanti, Kreisberg and Johns, and directed by David Nutter, has been greenlit.

That is some pure awesomeness rite there.

Shipp should be Jay for sure. He looks the part now.

This show looks great but I still think Gustin looks too young.

Looking forward to my favorite DC character on the small screen. Man, I used to love the old Flash series and I hated it when they cancelled it.

Jay Garrick or he is Earth 2 Flash, which would connect the original TV Series.

Gustin looks great

@MrDonut - Isnt it weird how they can never cast a blonde superhero? We have Chris Evans as Cap and Human Torch, Michael B. Jordan as the Torch, Stephen Amell as Green Arrow, Caity Lotz as Black Canary, Gustin as Flash, Michael Douglas as Hank Pym, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Kate Mara as Invinsible Woman, even Renner as Hawkeye. They're all traditionally blonde characters played by actors with darker hair. Just pointing that out...

@Soforio
I like what they went with, but they definitely could have gone the winged route, it's no less ridiculous than Batman having actual Horns on his cowl

It will be great to see Barry and Jay team up. Being completely honest though I am not really a fan of Grant. He's also younger then I would want playing Barry. I always think of him being in his mid 30s or even early 40s and Wally in his 20s. Which is around the same age Grant is. Which leads me wanting some one older for the big screen version. My personal pick has been John Krasinski for Barry. So I really hope that the big screen and small screen versions are in their own separate universes. This way the fans can get a flash movie too. Because I doubt WB will give Grant his own movie and tv show. That all being said I can't wait to see what they do with this show.

I hope that he's playing Jay Garrick. Beyond that, I'm waiting to see the actual suit before I say anything else about it (unlike some of the more fashion-forward complaining that's happening). In recognition of those who can't wait to bitch about something, I've created a quote just for those people who can not enjoy anything. It's a Loki original.

"The quickest way to get a 'hardcore comic fan' to complain is to give him/her what he/she wants."
