Kevin Smith Will Direct An Upcoming Episode Of THE FLASH

During today's TCA press tour, CW president Mark Pedowitz announced that director/actor/writer and comic book fan Kevin Smith will helm an episode of The Flash that's set to air this May. Is the date an indication that it could be the season 2 finale, perhaps? More past the jump...

It's just been announced at the Television Critics Association’s press tour that director Kevin Smith (Clerks, Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, Mallrats The Walrus) will helm a future episode of The CW's The Flash. No other details were given, but his instalment of the incredibly popular small-screen take on DC's Fastest Man Alive is slated to air sometime in May.

Smith is a lifelong comic book fan, and has written for both DC and Marvel in the past. He's never directed a comic book movie, but has dabbled in the genre with the likes of Jay And Silent Bob Strike Back and he also appeared in the Daredevil film as a forensic assistant named Jack Kirby. Plus, let's not forget about his script for Tim Burton's defunct Superman Lives.

What do you guys think about this? Happy that Smith will be putting his stamp on the DC TV universe? The Flash returns Tuesday, Jan. 18 at 8 p.m. ET on The CW.
