Phil Lord And Chris Miller On What Ezra Miller Brings To JUSTICE LEAGUE And Rick Famuyima's THE FLASH

Chris Miller and Phil Lord were originally eyed to write and direct The Flash, but their hectic schedules and commitment to that Han Solo movie led to them instead just penning the treatment which Seth Grahame Smith would later use as a basis for his screenplay. When he later parted ways with Warner Bros. over creative differences, a new director was found in the form of Dope's Rick Famuyima.

Talking in a recent interview with IGN, The LEGO Movie helmers weighed in on why he was tapped to take over and what they think he'll bring to the table. "We work with Rick and have been developing a pilot with him for a little while and are really big fans of his and Dope," Lord says. "I think he's a rad choice." Miller meanwhile would echo those sentiments, adding: "He's going to do a great job on it."

Interestingly, they went on to reveal that they weren't the ones responsible for bringing some humour to the DC Films Universe through The Flash as that's always what the studio had in mind for the Scarlet Speedster. "They had that planned for him in the first place," Miller revealed. "That's why they were talking to us in the first place because that's how they wanted to go with that character, and I think that's why they came to us. He brings in new energy. Batman has to be kind of bummed out because his parents died and Superman is already established as a serious person and Wonder Woman's angry about stuff. Stuff's happening. But then you've got a guy who's like, 'Eh, whatever, I run fast!'"

Set visit reports point to Ezra Miller being the highlight of Justice League, an interesting development considering how negative many fans have been about the talented actor taking on the role here!

I think Rick is going to give us an amazing flash movie, along with Ezra.

@Warnerbroseph - It can't be worse than that shitty tv show, right?

@DarthBastard - Are you kidding me? That's the best comic book on cable television right now.

@Warnerbroseph - Phah. The show is garbage, it's no better than Arrow.
Shit writing, shit characterizations, shit directing, shit acting. The show is [frick]ing awful in almost every way.

@DarthBastard - How would you know how bad it is unless you watch it every week? Closet fan identified.

@billnye69 - I try to watch it thinking that it's getting better but it's not. Recently i have been watching like every 3 episode, it's [frick]ing shit. There is no logic or consistency to any character, the plot is [frick]ing shit, the same shit as last season. Mentor turns out to be evil, how [frick]ing original. And simply Barry is a [frick]ing idiot and a whiny bitch who cries at every slightest thing. It's no better than a shitty 80's lesson of the week cartoon.

@DarthBastard - Watching it makes you a fan no matter how you talk about it here. If you really hate something, you drop it.

Sticking with it, especially if you claim to hate it makes you a die hard fan.

Hello fellow CW Flash fan. ^_^

Both Miller and Famuyima will kill it. Plus a script by Lord and Miller come on that's gold!

Dope was one of my top 10 films of last year. I couldn't be more excited for the Flash movie now that Famuyima is directing.

The fact that those two are involved in this gives me hope that this could be decent.
