THE FLASH: Ben Affleck Will Reportedly Suit Up As Batman (For The Final Time?) Next Month

Photos from the set of The Flash have revealed everything from Supergirl to Michael Keaton's Bruce Wayne, but will Ben Affleck's Batman be next? The actor is reportedly going to join the movie next month.

In recent weeks, photos from the set of The Flash in Scotland have shown Batman racing into action on a White Knight-inspired Bat-cycle. It was clearly meant to be Ben Affleck's version of the Dark Knight (as opposed to Michael Keaton's), but it was a stuntman rather than the actor himself in the Batsuit.

Now, though, it's been revealed that Affleck is going to report to the set of the movie next month.

That doesn't necessarily mean we'll get any set photos, but as this Batman will get to see at least some action, we wouldn't be surprised. Either way, The Flash is expected to serve as a farewell to this version of the hero, so we'll take all the "Batfleck" we can get in the Multiverse-spanning adventure.

We weren't expecting Affleck to return as Bruce Wayne after Justice League, but he's shown himself to be surprisingly willing to reprise the role both in this movie and Zack Snyder's Justice League

The cast of The Flash includes Ezra Miller as The Flash, Ben Affleck as Batman, Michael Keaton as Batman, Sasha Calle as Supergirl, Kiersey Clemons as Iris West, Maribel Verdú as Nora Allen, and Ron Livingston as Henry Allen. Plenty of surprises are expected, though the movie has yet to publicly announce the casting of a lead villain (we may, however, have a disappointing update on that).

The Flash is set to be released on November 4, 2022.

I liked Batfleck. Wish we could’ve gotten a Bat-family trilogy out of him.

@WruceBayne - since this is supposedly his last time suiting up, I wonder if they’re going to kill him? Have him make the “Ultimate Sacrifice”.

@Waddles - agreed.
And Pattinson is at that prime age where you can do a believable “boy wonder” Robin for a sequel and watch him grow into Nightwing and still have an older Batman in Pattinson.

@Waddles - honestly, they could just rewrite that to being Jason Todd. As far as I know, it was never confirmed on-screen that it was Dick.

But I feel kinda mixed on seeing a Pattinson lead Batfamily. I can see them use Damian Wayne and Cassandra Cain, but Dick, Jason, Tim, Barbara and Stephanie feel kinda out of place.

It's kinda with the Arkham games and the upcoming Gotham Knights. I'm glad they're seperate, because those universes just don't seem to mash. In my opinion Jason only worked in Knight because they reworked him into the titular Arkham Knight.

I wish we had been given a proper Batfleck / Cavill World's Finest :(

@duncboy - I agree, even if it would've been weird having a Year 2 Superman team up with a Year 20 Batman

@duncboy - well, Snyder did gave us BvS, even though that's more like "World's sh*ttiest".

I'm sick of all these "last time" posts about Cavill and Affleck. They'll do the movies they'll do

@TheWalkingCuban - lol those too. I just mean if Keaton is back as Batman, it's not out of the realm for anyone to reprise a role

@TheMapleSyrup - Thank you! Feel the same about this. These "editors" can't help but slip those remarks in every time there's a mention of Batfleck. It can't just be the "news" itself. I put quotes on that last word as it's that idiot El Maybe trying to stay relevant.

Since JK Simmons is said to be returning for Batgirl, at this point I wouldn't even surprise me if Affleck returns for that too. I just don't see him suit for longer than cameo appearances at a time from now on.

The mere fact that Michael Keaton is back as Batman should tell you all you need to know about actors “Final Time” doing any role.

Man I hope this isn't his last appearance as Batman. What a shame if it is...no solo movie, no trilogy, no Bat-family. Thanks a lot, WB.
