The Flash was screened for the first time at CinemaCon last month, and word from Las Vegas was mostly positive. Predictably, pretty much the entire plot leaked online a day or two later, and despite some big cameos, the movie looks set to be light on surprises.
That might have been different had we seen the version meant to reboot the DCEU and set the stage for Crisis on Infinite Earths but, as things stand, The Flash will be relatively standalone in nature.
Filmmaker Andy Muschietti has got fans talking, though, after sharing a sketch that appears to feature the villainous Reverse-Flash. In the comic books, the evil speedster was responsible for the murder of Barry Allen's mother and a key part of the Flashpoint storyline. As far as we're aware, General Zod and Dark Flash are this movie's main antagonists, but perhaps Eobard Thawne is being added as a surprise for fans?
We'll see. There's every chance this is just an illustration of Barry Allen, albeit with a questionable colour choice! This would, after all, be a pretty major surprise to randomly spoil on social media.

Worlds collide in The Flash when Barry uses his superpowers to travel back in time in order to change the events of the past. But when his attempt to save his family inadvertently alters the future, Barry becomes trapped in a reality in which General Zod has returned, threatening annihilation, and there are no Super Heroes to turn to.
That is, unless Barry can coax a very different Batman out of retirement and rescue an imprisoned Kryptonian...albeit not the one he's looking for. Ultimately, to save the world that he is in and return to the future that he knows, Barry's only hope is to race for his life. But will making the ultimate sacrifice be enough to reset the universe?
The movie stars Ezra Miller, Sasha Calle, Michael Shannon, Ron Livingston, Maribel Verdu, Kiersey Clemons, Antje Traue, and Michael Keaton.
The Flash races into theaters on June 16.
