THE FLASH Director Stirs Reverse-Flash Speculation After Sharing One Of His Sketches From The Movie

The Flash director Andy Muschietti has shared a new sketch from the DC Comics adaptation, prompting speculation that the villainous Reverse-Flash could end up making an appearance in the upcoming movie.

The Flash was screened for the first time at CinemaCon last month, and word from Las Vegas was mostly positive. Predictably, pretty much the entire plot leaked online a day or two later, and despite some big cameos, the movie looks set to be light on surprises.

That might have been different had we seen the version meant to reboot the DCEU and set the stage for Crisis on Infinite Earths but, as things stand, The Flash will be relatively standalone in nature.

Filmmaker Andy Muschietti has got fans talking, though, after sharing a sketch that appears to feature the villainous Reverse-Flash. In the comic books, the evil speedster was responsible for the murder of Barry Allen's mother and a key part of the Flashpoint storyline. As far as we're aware, General Zod and Dark Flash are this movie's main antagonists, but perhaps Eobard Thawne is being added as a surprise for fans?

We'll see. There's every chance this is just an illustration of Barry Allen, albeit with a questionable colour choice! This would, after all, be a pretty major surprise to randomly spoil on social media.

Check out the picture in Muschietti's Instagram post below.

Worlds collide in The Flash when Barry uses his superpowers to travel back in time in order to change the events of the past. But when his attempt to save his family inadvertently alters the future, Barry becomes trapped in a reality in which General Zod has returned, threatening annihilation, and there are no Super Heroes to turn to.

That is, unless Barry can coax a very different Batman out of retirement and rescue an imprisoned Kryptonian...albeit not the one he's looking for. Ultimately, to save the world that he is in and return to the future that he knows, Barry's only hope is to race for his life. But will making the ultimate sacrifice be enough to reset the universe?

The movie stars Ezra Miller, Sasha Calle, Michael Shannon, Ron Livingston, Maribel Verdu, Kiersey Clemons, Antje Traue, and Michael Keaton.

The Flash races into theaters on June 16.

So either a post credits that will go no where, or the Barry that becomes ‘Dark Flash’ was originally going to becoming the reverse flash

@Twenty23Three - Dark Flash originally being a version of Reverse-Flash makes the most sense to me. Especially considering that grin looks like that Barry's

Flash is carrying some serious baggage wonder how it will affect the box office. Ezra Miller was cast in the lead been arrested on multiple occasions for disorderly conduct, physical assault and burglary, among other things, and also have been accused of grooming minors and leading a cult. The Flash could be facing some protesting from the Groomer Crowd.

have no intention of watching this due to miller being in it, and the whole dc reboot means this movie is just a dead end.

@Reginator - if this movie makes 1bill then it's guaranteed to be a part of the new dcu

Reginator - 5/9/2023, 8:47 AM
@Taonrey - could happen, but odds are probably against it. Flash in the new dcu with a new actor, yes.

@Taonrey - If Guardians 3 can't make a billion there's no way Flash will make a billion Black Adam & Shazam already failed WB/DC. And people already know there rebooting the whole universe no point in wasting time. Then there's Ezra fiasco that people know about who will not support that pedo thrash.

Breakdown: (not too accurate) How 100% of people feel

25% - DC/WB is busted renewing new universe won't waste time.
25% - Will not support Ezra.
25% - Feel burned out of bad CBM's
25% - Will support the pedo's movie (what does that say about those people)

In a nutshell.

@Taonrey - You will NEVER see Ezra Miller near a WB/DC maybe any movie ever again. NO Studio will risk Ezra Miller having one of his break downs and hurting someone.

@Taonrey - That was a small "if" though

@MotherGooseUPus - Agreed same on first two as much as I like Michael Keaton and wish him the best.

But everyone who worked on this movie already got paid. So it's the studio's turn to make that profit but since they banked on Ezra I can't in good conscience support this movie.

Don't let this man fool you. Reverse Flash is not in this movie.

The best thing that can happen would be an insider leaking the film in HD quality online before the movie premieres. It'll be a win for people who want to see the film without supporting Ezra and Warner Bros profits.

I disagree with those who don't think this film will be every bit the success it could be.
I feel like regardless of Ezra and his BS, the film itself will be a huge success and pave the way for the collective public to move past his absurdities. It's just how this business works.
I could see it close to $1B but probably like 800-900 mil.

I could care less about GOTG 3. I'll watch it at home.
ObserverIO

@Imprtracr1 - I both agree and disagree.

I agree that it will do anything from $800 million - $1B.

But I disagree that it will be every bit the success it could be. If they had reshot and replaced Ezra (costly I know) I seriously think it would've cleared $2B.

Too late for that now, but if they at least confirmed that Ezra was being replaced as The Flash in future films I think it would still gross $1.5B without even breaking a sweat.

Ezra is the only thing stopping this movie from bursting through the box office stratosphere.

@ObserverIO - I hear you but the I also believe the general public doesn't give sh it about Ezra or his insanity. I don't think it even is in the general ethos of conversations about the film for the layman.
ObserverIO
ObserverIO - 5/16/2023, 10:59 AM
@Imprtracr1 - True, but I don't underestimate the impact that the fans have on the rest of the world. We're like free marketing sometimes. I know that when I'm really excited about a cbm and want it to be big and know that it's worth promoting and that it will be a good representation of my culture, I market the shit out of it all over the internet and irl.

I literally walk around like a billboard for my favorite cbms, lol. I'm wearing my Into the Spider-verse hoodie right now!

Ezra was cast as the Flash way before he went nuts. Not saying I condone what the bastard did but, I'm certainly not missing this movie because of his dumbass

I expect him to basically cameo when they show Barry's mother's death scene, it sets up for a possible sequel. So not surprised they have template design for the character even if he's going to be blurry cgi creation, like how he looked in the show before they revealed who the actor was.

It's just his drawing style that ended up making Barry look like Reverse-Flash. And the way it was colored. But with the turn Ezra took, it's not exactly not accurate at this point.

Matt Letscher however will always remain as the best RF though, him and Grant's Flash have it all.
