With the first screening of The Flash just a couple of weeks away, we're starting to get a lot of new content from the DC Comics adaptation.
The latest promo video offers some close-up shots of the movie's leads, including Ben Affleck and Michael Keaton's respective versions of Batman. No matter how you feel about the movie after all those Ezra Miller-related controversies, Andy Muschietti appears to have done a phenomenal job behind the camera.
We also get a great new look at Sasha Calle's Supergirl, a character who may or may not have a future in the DCEU beyond this Multiversal adventure.
Reshoots have taken place since DC Studios was formed and a number of cameos and scenes have been removed so that The Flash no longer sets up a future we won't see. We now expect it to potentially lay the groundwork for the new DCU, though there's still a chance it will be largely standalone in nature.
Worlds collide in The Flash when Barry uses his superpowers to travel back in time in order to change the events of the past. But when his attempt to save his family inadvertently alters the future, Barry becomes trapped in a reality in which General Zod has returned, threatening annihilation, and there are no Super Heroes to turn to.
That is, unless Barry can coax a very different Batman out of retirement and rescue an imprisoned Kryptonian...albeit not the one he's looking for. Ultimately, to save the world that he is in and return to the future that he knows, Barry's only hope is to race for his life. But will making the ultimate sacrifice be enough to reset the universe?
The movie stars Ezra Miller, Sasha Calle, Michael Shannon, Ron Livingston, Maribel Verdu, Kiersey Clemons, Antje Traue, and Michael Keaton.
The Flash races into theaters on June 16.
