Mark Hamill (Star Wars: The Force Awakens) made a fairly memorable apperance on The Flash's freshman season when he reprised his original '90s role of James Jesse a.k.a. The Trickster and wreaked havoc for Grant Gustin's Scarlet Speedster, nearly twenty-five years after battling with John Wesley Shipp.

On Saturday, after a few set photos surfaced of Hamill presumably back on set in his Trickster guise, rumors began to circulate that he would be returning for another special guest spot on the second season of The Flash. Seeking some sort of confirmation, ComicBook reached out to The CW/WB and learned that Hamill was definitely returning and then early this morning, Hamill corroborated their report when he tweeted out the following:

So, what do you guys think? Excited to see Hamill back? Sound off with your thoughts below!

INTRODUCING JAY GARRICK — Jay Garrick (guest star Teddy Sears), a mysterious man from Earth-2, appears at S.T.A.R. Labs with a dire warning about an evil speedster named Zoom, who is set on destroying The Flash. Barry (Grant Gustin) and the team must decide if they can trust this stranger even as they face yet another powerful meta-human. Meanwhile, Joe (Jesse L. Martin) must deal with a determined officer named Patty Spivot (guest star Shantal VanSanten) who wants to join his meta-human task force. Jesse Warn directed the episode written by Aaron Helbing & Todd Helbing (#202).

THE FLASH is a fast-paced super hero drama that follows the high-speed adventures of Central City Police scientist Barry Allen, an everyday guy with the heart of a hero and the genuine desire to help others. When an unexpected accident at the S.T.A.R. Labs Particle Accelerator facility strikes Barry, he finds himself suddenly charged with the incredible power to move at super speeds. While Barry has always been a hero in his soul, his newfound powers have finally given him the ability to act like one. With the help of the research team at S.T.A.R. Labs, Barry begins testing the limits of his evolving powers and using them to stop crime. With a winning personality and a smile on his face, Barry Allen — aka The Flash — is finally moving forward in life … very, very fast!

Awesome, glad to hear it. The Trickster Episode from season 1 was great, looking forward for seeing him again, since I'm a big Hamill fan. ;-)

Tricksters wasn't nearly as good as it should've been. The episode was hurt by ill timed flashbacks and a very cliche ending. The "I am your father" moment should've been a classic moment but it somehow missed the mark. Perhaps if Trickster had a son who was not complicit with his crimes, maybe even a good guy fighting against him, who turned out to be his son and who would go "Noooooo!" it might've been really epic. Instead it was just cute.

And speaking of flashbacks, I fast forward past every Arrow flashback. They are unbearable.

The first episode with him was awful, he was awful in it and the young hipster guy sucked ass.

Felt that he was underused. Should have been a few episodic arc, instead of being one-episodic villain of the week.

@DarthBastard: I thought he did a great job. He was delightfully cheesy. In a show like the Flash which will play concepts like "Flash Day " and one day even the Flash Museum, I think they are allowed to be cheesy! If you liked him in the 90's Flash show then there is no reason to not like him here. He's the exact same character!

James Jesse, not Jessie James

I doubt it'd happen, but I'd enjoy seeing his sidekick Prank show up too. Prank was a character made for the Flash show that came on in the 90s.

Hamill should be Gotham's Joker. Yes, I know it'll never happen and sounds ridiculous but it would make Gotham 1000 times better.

After this, they should get John Glover to reprise his role as Dr. Jason Woodrue (AKA the Floronic Man) on GOTHAM.
