Looks like the 'Desperate Housewives' star will have his shot at the big screen playing the purple Phantom.

In this version of "Phantom," Ryan Carnes will play the well-known comic book hero, and Isabella Rossellini will guest star as the main villainous Lithia, who is in conducting a mind-control experiment. "Phantom" supporting cast members are Cameron Goodman and Sandrine Holt.

Cool!!!! I like THE PHANTOM!!! How does this affect 'THE MAN WHO WALKS MOVIE' ? Movies said gonna be more high tech and in our present time! Is this mini series going to be made in a series and is it the Kitt Walker PHANTOM???? Oh i misread lol! This is the Big Screen PHANTOM!!! Still cool though! ; ) But i thought SCI FI was doing a mini series not the Big Screen treatment??????? Anyone?

KeepItReal: Yes, except it sounds like it's going to have the typical "SciFi Channel twist" to the story.
I just hope it doesn't blow as much as every other Sci Fi series I've seen so far!

Most of the times, i agree with all of your comments (the white Nick fury character issue, etc), but ALWAYS i get kind of stressed by reading them, at the same time!! ;-]

Anyway i think U are right, the SciFi´s phantom was announced to be a Mini-Series, right?... maybe jman1977 got that wrong...

Lol SirJediFrank @ Heh heh, hey i ain't on one or anything lol, im just saying, im not sure then what PHANTOM being talked about! An it's only the small screen one! Satanors @ Yes we do need another BIG SCREEN PHANTOM, especially if its still THE MAN WHO WALKS, was said to be MATRIX/BATMAN/HI TECH sorta movie! That would be cool! Oh and i love the Billy Zane one, great movie, just like ROCKETEER and THE SHADOW! All great movies in their own right! ; ) Really SirJediFrank?? I really enjoyed the Zane´s Phantom. i liked the photography for it, maybe the story was simple but they respected the "family legacy" theme.

let´s hope this SciFi project goes well..

While I would love to see another Phantom movie (the one with Billy Zane is underrated, imo), I'm NOT too excited about seeing SciFi associated with it. They have a long and proven track record of screwing up other people's properties that they do.

and I'd love to see a show or movie based on the Phantom Limb.

I've never been a big fan but always liked the character, I'd like to see a Phantom movie set back in the 20's. But done classy not campy like Billy Zane's version.
