Zap2It caught up with Chris Hemsworth at the premiere for Marvel's The Avengers and chatted a little bit with the Aussie actor about Thor's next solo movie. Hemsworth said he hasn't read the script yet, but praised Avengers director Joss Whedon for the handling of the Jane Foster Thor story.
"The big challenge was, we left 'Thor' with that hope of Jane Foster on Earth and Thor in another realm kind of somehow getting together. You know, I think the satisfying thing would be to see that happen. Joss did a great job of fostering that and putting her out of the picture for the moment," he said. According to Hemsworth the maturity that Thor gained in his first movie outing will really be put to the test with him continuing,
"I think he would like, now, to be put in the position to take over the throne and be worthy of that position. We'll see." Thor could be making the trip across different realms this go around as well. Hemsworth said he is looking forward to traveling to different worlds, but Earth will still be a focal point in the film.
"I always found the lighter stuff with Thor to be more interesting, because of all the other realms that he was involved in and the universe and that's what I look forward to. Traveling across different worlds. I certainly think Earth is his connection. It's never said in the film, but in the comics and in the early history of it all, I think Thor's mother is vaguely human. There is some sort of connection there," Hemsworth Explained.
We have also had news that Loki will be
featured in the sequel as well but not as the main villain. A lot of people are speculating on just who will be featured along side Loki in the next film. One of the choices is Beta Ray Bill who ironically was one of he first stories Hemsworth read when he was researching Thor. While there has been no rumor or news that Beta Ray Bill will be featured the actor said this of the character,
"I thought, 'What is this half horse-looking character?' By the end I said 'I get this and I like it.' My first instinct was that I was a bit unsure. He's the only one who can pick up the hammer. He's a worthy from another planet. But he looks like a horse."
