Chris Hemsworth Discusses THOR 2 And Beta Ray Bill

After the buzz for The Avengers dies down Chris Hemsworth will be back to work on Thor 2. The actor took time out during the premiere for The Avengers to talk about where the film might go and his thoughts on Beta Ray Bill.

Zap2It caught up with Chris Hemsworth at the premiere for Marvel's The Avengers and chatted a little bit with the Aussie actor about Thor's next solo movie. Hemsworth said he hasn't read the script yet, but praised Avengers director Joss Whedon for the handling of the Jane Foster Thor story. "The big challenge was, we left 'Thor' with that hope of Jane Foster on Earth and Thor in another realm kind of somehow getting together. You know, I think the satisfying thing would be to see that happen. Joss did a great job of fostering that and putting her out of the picture for the moment," he said. According to Hemsworth the maturity that Thor gained in his first movie outing will really be put to the test with him continuing, "I think he would like, now, to be put in the position to take over the throne and be worthy of that position. We'll see." Thor could be making the trip across different realms this go around as well. Hemsworth said he is looking forward to traveling to different worlds, but Earth will still be a focal point in the film. "I always found the lighter stuff with Thor to be more interesting, because of all the other realms that he was involved in and the universe and that's what I look forward to. Traveling across different worlds. I certainly think Earth is his connection. It's never said in the film, but in the comics and in the early history of it all, I think Thor's mother is vaguely human. There is some sort of connection there," Hemsworth Explained.

We have also had news that Loki will be featured in the sequel as well but not as the main villain. A lot of people are speculating on just who will be featured along side Loki in the next film. One of the choices is Beta Ray Bill who ironically was one of he first stories Hemsworth read when he was researching Thor. While there has been no rumor or news that Beta Ray Bill will be featured the actor said this of the character, "I thought, 'What is this half horse-looking character?' By the end I said 'I get this and I like it.' My first instinct was that I was a bit unsure. He's the only one who can pick up the hammer. He's a worthy from another planet. But he looks like a horse."

You can check out Chris Hemsworth as Thor in Marvel's The Avengers along side Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Tom Hiddleston, Stellan Skarsgård , and Samuel L. Jackson on May 4th 2012.

Save Beta Ray for Thor 3 or Avengers 2 (they'll need his help to defeat Thanos, who is also threatening his race).

For Thor 2 we need Enchantress, Executioner, Baldar, and MAYBE Ulik. Also, NO EARTH. All in other realms. Build up the Thor/Sif relationship so when he gets to see Jane again in Thor 3 there's real conflict.

If BETA RAY BILL is in THOR 2, I hope his look his heavily inspired by his look in the STORMBREAKER: THE SAGA OF BETA RAY BILL series.

Surtur for Thor 3. Otherwise if he's used in Thor 2, what villain would they use in Thor 3?

Chris is amazing as Thor, born to play the role. However, I would like to see the fights increase from great-awesome-epicness! Bring on Enchantress and/or Bta Ray Bill!

@nomis

there is a sliding scale of how crazy it can get, to me frost giants are fine in terms of suspending my disbelief.

but an alien horse who dresses as the main character?

AND has a cheesy comic book, space western sounding name?

and i REALLY hope they dont include much of jane foster...

the weakest parts of Thor were with Jane and her posse.

show us the other realms!!! make the warriors three and sif bigger and badder! and show us something dark like Hel with Surtur and Hela!

I HATE BETA RAY BILL!!

There is not a single comicbook persona that is more cheesy, lame and un-needed as that dumb-a** character. Way to tarnish Thor.

I second the Enchantress! She not only is gorgeous and cool looking but she has some crazy power too! The would be a good match.

Holy shit, did you see Josh's reaction after seeing Avengers on twitter?

"My God. That was...well, [frick]ing amazing to put it bluntly. #Avengers

Gotta find a taxi. Gimme a few minutes and I'll Tweet some proper reactions. Joss Whedon has crafted a masterpiece!!! #Avengers

The footage we've seen doesn't do it justice. The #Avengers is a bigger movie than any of us could have EVER imagined.

It's funny (not in a stupid way, in an actual laugh out loud way) throughout and deadly serious too. Some truly shocking moments. #Avengers

There's not a weak performance. Hiddleston is terrifying and everyone else is magnificent. You won't believe how good The #Avengers is!

I'm not sure what else I can say. It's the greatest comic book movie EVER made. Whedon just became one of the most in-demand directors in> >Hollywood, that's for damn sure. A breathtaking spectacle. Can't wait to see it again!!! #Avengers

I'm not gonna lie. I had tears in my eyes at some points. It's THAT good (and I'm not just saying this from a fans perspective). #Avengers

Sorry guys, but I won't be answering any spoiler related questions (pretty sure that's why I signed an embargo I reckon). Review on 20th.

One or two minor gripes, but that's just a fanboy thing. Will mention it in my review. Oh, and the after-credits scene? Epic. #Avengers"

In other words...

[frick]IN EPIC!

GRIF KNOWS!

And hey, Thor's mother DOES have a connection to EARTH. He was almost right. His mother is the reason he has more of an affinity for Midgard than the other gods.
