Idris Elba Vaguely Talks THOR: THE DARK WORLD

Including a couple of vague noteworthy tweets from the Marvel sequel's supporting cast members, Heimdall actor Idris Elba has shared brief thoughts on Thor: The Dark World's production.

With a great chunk of filming already completed, the remainder of principal photography for Thor: The Dark World is said to be indoors, on sound stages at Shepperton Studios, rather than on-location. And one of the anticipated Marvel sequel's returning cast members, Heimdall actor Idris Elba, recently commented on the shoot's status and new additions to the cast, via Showbiz411.

Also, Lady Sif actress Jaimie Alexander recently took to Twitter to announce that she's returned to the Alan Taylor-directed production, over a month after sustaining an ankle injury while on-set. In addition, one of Thor: The Dark World's new cast members, Algrim/Kurse actor Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje also used Twitter to tease scenes he shared with two pivotal characters in the movie.

Marvel Studios’ “Thor: The Dark World” continues the big-screen adventures of Thor, the Mighty Avenger, as he battles to save Earth and all the Nine Realms from a shadowy enemy that predates the universe itself. In the aftermath of Marvel’s “Thor” and “Marvel’s The Avengers,” Thor fights to restore order across the cosmos…but an ancient race led by the vengeful Malekith returns to plunge the universe back into darkness. Faced with an enemy that even Odin and Asgard cannot withstand, Thor must embark on his most perilous and personal journey yet, one that will reunite him with Jane Foster and force him to sacrifice everything to save us all.

Starring Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Tom Hiddleston, Stellan Skarsgård, Idris Elba, Christopher Eccleston, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Kat Dennings, Ray Stevenson, Zachary Levi, Tadanobu Asano and Jaimie Alexander with Rene Russo & Anthony Hopkins as Odin, “Thor: The Dark World” is directed by Alan Taylor, produced by Kevin Feige, from a story by Don Payne (credit not final) and screenplay by Christopher Yost and Christopher Markus & Stephen McFeely (credit not final) and is based on Marvel’s classic Super Hero Thor, who first appeared in the comic book “Journey into Mystery” #83 in August, 1962. “Thor: The Dark World” is presented by Marvel Studios. The executive producers are Louis D’Esposito, Alan Fine, Stan Lee, Victoria Alonso, Craig Kyle and Nigel Gostelow. The film releases November 8, 2013, and is distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures.

In addition to “Thor: The Dark World”, Marvel Studios will release a slate of films based on more iconic Marvel characters including “Iron Man 3” on May 3, 2013; “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” on April 4, 2014; “Marvel's The Avengers” sequel (title TBA) on May 1, 2015; and “Ant-Man” on November 6, 2015!

And Levi looks like he'll make a good Fandral. Interesting considering he was supposed to play him in the first movie after replacing Stuart Townshend and had to drop out for Chuck.

Also, Levi looks pretty good as Fandral (despite all those foils in his hair). While it is a bit of a shame that Joshua Dallas had to drop the role due to his commitment to Once Upon A Time, Levi will do just as good as Fandral. :)

I want to see more of the ass-kicking capabilities that we were teased with in the first film. Heimdall only had a few seconds of it, but it was enough to send two Jotuns to the other side of the veil. More, please.

Lord Loki has spoken

@Pux - not racist but those european nations (norse) would represent the deities as themselves even if they were bue, green or red. Besides that they probably never seen Heimdall.

@Pux:

Agreed on all fronts. Although Idris played the role brilliantly and I have no qualms with them making an Asgardian a different race, Heimdall in particular was kind of a big change given his mythology. I think it would've been better to have him as Balder and a very light complexion person as Heimdall.

Either way, it's too late now... hahahaha. And ultimately I'm stoked they've handled Thor and his associated characters as well as they have. Never thought I'd ever see a feature length for Thor when I was a kid, let alone a sequel.

I bet we get footage for Thor: The Dark World before that for Star Trek Into Darkness. Phase 2 is indeed exciting. And now with Doc Strange and Black Panther on the way...just need an announcement for the Sub-Mariner now.
And I am going out of my mind waiting for something more from Man of Steel.
