If this movie had a longer running time, more Malekith, Sif, and the Warriors Three, less Darcy and Ian, and longer fighting sequences, then this movie would have been a classic.

@Comedian03

I have a thing for Portman, so I won't agree with you :P
I will say this though: Thor should leave Jane and get with Sif in the 3rd Thor movie. I love a brainy chick, but how can you turn down a woman who knows her way with a sword?

Re-watched this last night. Gets a solid "Eh" from me. Movie is just way too short and moves too quickly. It feels like a big-budget TV episode more than a feature film. Although Thor does seem slightly more powerful in this film, but overall the Asgardians powers are portrayed terribly. What level is their strength/durability? Like in the prologue the Asgardians are manhandling the Dark Elves, but when the Elves invade Asgard, they get their asses handed to them? I wanted to like this movie a lot more but it just feels like a big nothing.

Agree with @Comedian Jane is poo, so not needed. And other aspects of this film should've been more utilized. I'll be waiting for this to hit my premium channels like Iron Man 3 on Starz. With that being said, so ready for Cap 2!

Always great concept art, and it was a visually stunning movie. But that's all it had going for it.
Hopefully Thor 3 is decent.
Bring on AoU.

@power cosmic what are the deleted scenes with malekeith like? Did the scenes provide any greater depth to the character?

@ArmoredAsgardian

I think that the Asgardians' were caught by surprise because they all (Odin included) believed that the Dark Elves had been eradicated. If you no longer have that foe to fight, future generations will forget HOW to fight that foe. Plus, with their cloaking technology, they were even able to hide from Heimdall (until they got too close and he went murder-spree on them). I think that this version of Thor (being an alien) might have just been a way to get the general audience used to the concept of the Asgardians. In time, another adaptation might be able to get away with the "magical god concept", as people would already be used to Thor's presence and powers. Just my thoughts, though. I actually enjoyed the film but, even if they made it 6 hours long, it would still be too short for me.
