Marvel Studios debuted a terrific new trailer for Thor: Love and Thunder on Monday, and director Taika Waititi caught several bizarre mistakes in the auto-generated captions.
The filmmaker, who will also provide the voice of Korg in the Thor: Ragnarok follow-up, took to Twitter to spotlight a few of these hilarious auto-caption fails, which you can check out in the thread below.
The captions appear to have had trouble with some of the accents as well as keeping up with certain characters speaking too quickly, and it's resulted in some very funny errors. Our favorite is probably Gorr's "all gods must die" coming out as "oh gosh, well die," but Thor getting in shape and going from "dad bought to... goddard" is giving it a run for its money.
Thor: Love and Thunder finds Thor (Chris Hemsworth) on a journey unlike anything he’s ever faced – a quest for inner peace. But his retirement is interrupted by a galactic killer known as Gorr the God Butcher (Christian Bale), who seeks the extinction of the gods. To combat the threat, Thor enlists the help of King Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson), Korg (Taika Waititi) and ex-girlfriend Jane Foster (Natalie Portman), who – to Thor’s surprise – inexplicably wields his magical hammer, Mjolnir, as the Mighty Thor.
Together, they embark upon a harrowing cosmic adventure to uncover the mystery of the God Butcher’s vengeance and stop him before it’s too late.
Directed by Waititi (Thor: Ragnarok, Jojo Rabbit) and produced by Kevin Feige and Brad Winderbaum, Thor: Love and Thunder opens in theaters July 8, 2022.
