We still haven't seen an official image from Thor: Love and Thunder, but quite a lot of promo/concept art has found its way online over the past couple of months, and we now have a first look at some tie-in merchandise for Taika Waititi's upcoming Ragnarok follow-up.

S.H. Figuarts (via Marvelousnews.com) has unveiled some photos of two of its Love and Thunder action figures, which will hit stores later this year and should be made available for pre-order soon. They feature the God of Thunder (Chris Hensworth) in his updated costume, along with Jane Foster (Natalie Portman) suited-up as The Mighty Thor.

Jane comes with multiple hands, unmasked and helmeted headsculpts and a re-constructed Mjolnir, while Thor comes with multiple hands, powered eyes and regular headsculpt, Stormbreaker and lightning effect pieces.

Check out some images below, and be sure to click here to see the rest.

Thor 4 plot details are still under wraps, but we know the story will revolve around the Odinson's old flame (Portman) transforming into The Mighty Thor. Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson) and members of the Guardians of the Galaxy will also be on hand, with Christian Bale taking on villain duties as Gorr the God Butcher.

Russell Crowe let slip that he'll be playing Zeus last year, while Matt Damon and Sam Neill have also been confirmed to return as "Fake Loki" and "Fake Odin" for (presumably) a stage re-cap of the events of Ragnarok.

Thor: Love and Thunder is set to hit theaters on July 8.

Honestly, I know the performances will be great and the story fun etc etc, but i cannot WAIT to see the action from this film

Taiki gave us some PROPER Thor-level action scenes in Ragnarok that Thor 1 & 2 had been missing (the opening scene against Surtur alone was incredible) and this film feels like it'll blow Ragnarok out of the water

Very. Hyped.

@SeanMPC - pretty sure that's on pre-vise guys and second unit, not Taika. And Thor's fight in Jotunheim is better than any action scene in Ragnarok (in my opinion). And I'd also argue about the quality of the action scenes in Ragnarok. They were janky and lacked weight.

I don’t mind Thor’s new costume the more I see it, but man do I wish he went back to his Infinity War look. Still his best one so far.

@MeAreLegend - I like the ideas that the infinity war look has going for it, especially the Black/Red cape, but the execution of it all looks a bit disjointed, cosplay-ish and manufactured to me.
I still believe that his Ragnarok look, both at the beginning and after the Sakaar gladiator makeover, is the best we've got. It looks so functional and warrior-like.

@Fares - see, I think the same, but for the Ragnarok costumes. They always looked really cheap to me

@Dredd97 - Interesting. For me, it's all the leather, metal and cloth that gives it a sense of authenticity in my eyes. Plus it actually seems that Hemsworth is wearing it, not that it's wearing Hemsworth. But I can say that the Sakaar add-ons like those colorful plastic armor plates and weapons kinda cheapens it a little.

@MeAreLegend - I think his all black Infinity War outfit was actually one of the more poorly designed outfits in the MCU. There's no creativity, imagination, or style to it at all. It just looks like someone spray painted his Thor 1 costume black.

His Dark World/Age of Ultron outfits actually did the best blending of his comic look with a more modern update.

They certainly did justice to Hemsworth's arms.

@MisterDoctor217 -

Lol Thor’s costume reminds me of Solaris Knight from Mystic Force.

Kinda surprised Marvel wouldn’t release at least a couple of official photos if companies are going to start revealing products.

I don't know why, but I'm kind of worried about this movie.

I don't like Taika's vision of Thor but i do really like Natalie Portman so mixed feelings on this.

I would have liked to have seen Kyle and Yost's true version of Thor 3 with a more serious director. I feel like they had a lot of good beats in their screenplay and would have really delivered something special.

I'll never get the appeal of MCU's/Waititi's Thor. It's just not Thor.

Good to see Thor with long hair again. Though I prefer Thor 3 and IF suits.

I’m really interested to see if they go with the cancer story line for Jane’s character. I kind of think it would be a missed opportunity if they left it completely out.

@Equipmunk - probably not the easiest toy to sell to kids "Bed Ridden Jane" but you I'll probs still buy the funko of it

@smell - very true, but they don’t even need to go that far with it to make her character a little more compelling.

Yeah, this is great and all, but I still have significant concerns that 5' 3" / 118 pounds (per an online measurements description) Natalie Portman is going to appear "Thor-like" powerful on-screen for extended periods of time in the movie.

Going that direction with that actress just feels so wrong.
Whaley87
Whaley87 - 2/17/2022, 12:49 PM
@Deckacards - She clearly has been working out for months on end though before filming began, you shouldn't assume she's not gonna put the work in.
Deckacards
Deckacards - 2/17/2022, 12:51 PM
@Whaley87 - I didn't assume she hasn't put the work in. I just don't like her in that role. In general. I don't think, regardless of how much muscle she adds, that she is the right choice. It actually has little to do with muscle, although I can see how you would think that's what I meant from my comment. I'm just not a Portman fan. And muscled or not, I don't think have faith that she'll have the right presence for the role.

@Deckacards - That 5'3" 110lb woman could probably take you on, even if you were twice her size.
