Marvel Studios’ “Thor: The Dark World” continues the big-screen adventures of Thor, the Mighty Avenger, as he battles to save Earth and all the Nine Realms from a shadowy enemy that predates the universe itself. In the aftermath of Marvel’s “Thor” and “Marvel’s The Avengers,” Thor fights to restore order across the cosmos…but an ancient race led by the vengeful Malekith returns to plunge the universe back into darkness. Faced with an enemy that even Odin and Asgard cannot withstand, Thor must embark on his most perilous and personal journey yet, one that will reunite him with Jane Foster and force him to sacrifice everything to save us all. Starring Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Tom Hiddleston, Stellan Skarsgård, Idris Elba, Christopher Eccleston, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Kat Dennings, Ray Stevenson, Zachary Levi, Tadanobu Asano and Jaimie Alexander with Rene Russo & Anthony Hopkins as Odin, “Thor: The Dark World” is directed by Alan Taylor, produced by Kevin Feige, from a story by Don Payne and screenplay by Christopher Yost and Christopher Markus & Stephen McFeely and is based on Marvel’s classic Super Hero Thor, who first appeared in the comic book “Journey into Mystery” #83 in August, 1962. “Thor: The Dark World” is presented by Marvel Studios. The executive producers are Louis D’Esposito, Alan Fine, Stan Lee, Victoria Alonso, Craig Kyle and Nigel Gostelow. The film releases November 8, 2013, and is distributed by Walt Disney Studios.

"continuation of the greatest love story in the superhero world. "

That romance was the weakest part of the first thor movie.

I'm not sure if it's the greatest love story as of now,
but it did just start in the first movie. It didn't go full circle like how everyone thinks it did, and that's why they act like it was rushed. Once the trilogy is completed, the bigger picture will be there, they didn't have to wrap everything up in one movie.
Branagh himself said the first movie was "just a spark" and always knew the second movie would pick up on it further.

There arent many to be honest. A love interest in almost every CBM ive seen tends to be the weakest link. Exceptions are....

Tony/Pepper
Peter/Gwen in TASM

Yeah, agree. Would possibly ad Silk Spectre and Dr Manhattan to that list. It just so .. special.

@mdwilliamson great point. hopwe it expanded on more in this one. (I think it will be).
@Mike89 Tony and Pepper is a good one! Peter and Gwen hmmm.
@Jollem Oh i gotta say no to Bruce and Betty. That is the most joyless and boring relationship of all.
The Brazilian girl at the soda plant and he had more of a spark. That would have been a good plot line now that i think about it....

@MartianAbominationClone say something that adds to the conversation or shut up.

@Ghostgx7killer Beta Ray for Thor 3 would be great or Guardians of the galaxy 2 maybe!

Bodwulf you have made a new friend. Beta-ray bill is one of my top 5 favourite cosmic characters and alone could probably have a badass story. hell get this man an animated feature or something he's gone toe to toe with galactus

the best thing about the first thor movie is the set and costumes. they bring you into the world, but they don't keep you there. having thor stuck between worlds really brings down the character (IMO)im nervous for thor2 just because of all the problems they had, but i hope marvel studios stepped it up.

after mandarin in (im3) im sure surtur is just a god like toaster oven

Doopie I agree about Keaton and Pfeiffer and the tragic scene of he at the end was great with Keaton unmasked and the "death" scene.
I have heard the falling too quickly argument for Thor before. disagree but I understand some feel that way.
So so far we have
1)Batman and Catwoman (Batman Returns)
2)Thor And Jane
3)Tony and Pepper
4)Bruce and Brazilian soda worker

Anyone else?

Maybe they can put in some of the new Gods that are now in Asgard into the 3rd movie.

I remember buying Thor 337 and first seeing Beta Ray. Love the groundbreaking look and the idea of Beta and skuttlebutt protecting his race. And Thor finally meeting someone as worthy as he to carry the hammer!

@Bodwulf that's why beta hits home for me, for the simple fact that he "is" worthy to weight the hammer of the thundergod. that his noble journey touched odin and in return was granted a hammer alongside his brother. most people laugh at him just cause he looks "horse"like but can't see the depth to the character. beta ray bill is like a transformer....need i say more?

also im weighting in on the romance in comics. mr.freeze and nora. or if its just for movies alone then casey jones and april from tmnt

i like to come on this website to share ideals with like minded folks. or discuses and find new comic interest, cause lets face it no one has read every comicbook.
never to bash someone's opinion on a subject that neither party can be right. CBM needs more "Readers" and less "shit talkers" (and im not calling anyone out from that)

@doopie there is a new journey into mystery run(652-onwards), kind of like beauty and the best with lady sif and beta-ray bill, pretty good story that my GF turned me onto mostly because of my love for beta-ray. another is world war hulk...he gets his ass kicked but its still a sick cameo.

@Doppie Peter and Mary Jane in Spiderman 1 was actually great and you have the iconic upside down kiss! Spiderman 2 it is solid but runs off the rails in 3. Moving it to second place.
@jollem o.k. 5th then
1)Batman and Catwoman (Batman Returns)
2)Parker and M.J.
3)Thor And Jane
4)Tony and Pepper
5)Freeze and Nora
5)Bruce and Betty
6)Bruce and Brazilian soda worker
7)Dredd and the LAW
8)Batman and Rachel Daws
9)Casey Jones and April from tmnt
10)Brian Singer's love affair with Brandon Routh
