THOR: RAGNAROK: First Look At Sakaar Reveals MCU's Weirdest Planet To Date

A small-scale model of the planet Sakaar in Thor: Ragnarok has been revealed and it instantly becomes apparent that this will be one of the craziest and most unique MCU locations ever seen...

In the comic books, Hulk ends up on the Planet Sakaar and winds up in the clutches of the Red King. From there, he's forced to battle in a gladiatorial arena until he breaks free and takes the planet for himself. Things won't be playing out quite like that in Thor: Ragnarok as the Jade Giant will be joined by the God of Thunder on a Sakaar ruled over by The Grandmaster, a character played by Jeff Goldblum.

Now, a small-scale model of the planet has been revealed and it's clear that this planet will be unlike anything we've ever seen. The work of Jack Kirby and Walt Simonson instantly comes to mind here.

Look to the right and you'll see the arena that Thor and The Hulk will be forced to fight in and it's probably a safe bet that the tall tower is where The Grandmaster calls home. What do you guys think of this new look at Sakaar? As always, share your thoughts in the comments section down below.

I like it but I don't believe this is the whole planet.

btw a little off topic but... To those of you that are wondering why the Orb in guardians of the galaxy was never stolen before, watch this

@sjoerdo0 - James Gunn mentions it in the commentary for the first one.

@sjoerdo0 -

If the water level on Morag only lowers every 300 years - then why was nobody after the Orb 300 years ago?

It also still does not explain why they did not have submersible technology to retrieve the Orb?

Either way, personally i dont mind the idea of the Orb being on a random planet. Perhaps most people were aware of the Orb, but not that it was an Infinity Stone. Thanos probably was researching into Infinity Stones and discovered it sending Korath - while everyone else just thought it was a rare orb and did not send people because they did not know what it contained.

@Scarilian - My headcannon is that somebody stole the orb, retreated to a random planet to hide from others who wanted it and eneded up dying there. leaving the orb lost.

I think Morag is that planet hich the celestial wiped the whole population by using the power stone and it stayed there for safety, once thats a phantom planet (no civilization in it)
