Tom Hiddleston Was Interested In Helming THOR: THE DARK WORLD; Kevin Feige Open To Idea

The Avengers star Tom Hiddleston reveals that he approached Marvel Studios chief Kevin Feige about the possibility of directing of Thor: The Dark World and would have been considered for the job had he come up with the right pitch. So, how soon until we see Loki behind the camera?

It's not uncommon for actors to make the transition into directing, often with great success (Ben Affleck (Argo) and Kenneth Branagh (Thor) for example). Talking to Empire Magazine recently, Tom Hiddleston was asked whether or not he would have any interest in directing a film at some point in the near future. "Yes, I do. I did ask, half-jokingly, Kevin Feige about directing Thor 2 and he said, 'Do you have something to show me?' I said no. He said, 'If you made something and showed me, I might consider it.' But it's better for the world that he said no. It would be such a responsibility, but I think I'd enjoy it." Marvel Studios are known for making some unusual choices when it comes to their directors, so it certainly wouldn't be too shocking if they were to give Hiddleston a shot at helming one of their comic book adaptations. If his skills behind the camera are as impressive as those in front, it's hard to not want to see this become a reality!

Marvel’s "Thor: The Dark World" continues the big-screen adventures of Thor, the Mighty Avenger, as he battles to save Earth and all the Nine Realms from a shadowy enemy that predates the universe itself. In the aftermath of Marvel’s "Thor" and "Marvel’s The Avengers," Thor fights to restore order across the cosmos…but an ancient race led by the vengeful Malekith returns to plunge the universe back into darkness. Faced with an enemy that even Odin and Asgard cannot withstand, Thor must embark on his most perilous and personal journey yet, one that will reunite him with Jane Foster and force him to sacrifice everything to save us all.

Bring on Director-Loki! He would be an interesting choice for Thor 2's director, but I think they did great with giving the director's chair to Alan Taylor. Still that leaves the future open for Loki directing...

I'm glad he didn't direct this one, but only because I think he needs a bit of experience first.

But once he gets it, it would be amazing.

Let him do some of the Marvel One Shots! Then we'd have a look at what sort of stuff he'd bring to the franchise!
I say hell yeah! Getting a film made for the fans by a fan is definitely not disagreeing with me...

I like Tom so much I'd roll the dice. Might be a better idea to give him a small project first and see what happens. Having your first attempt at directing be a 100 million dollar sequel to a film fans are crazy about might be a bit too much.

ill give him a chance possibly give him those marvel one shot short films to direct and if he does a good job then moving him up to the big leagues if he's "Worthy"

They should give him the chance.
If he sucks at it, well....
But then again he might turn out to be another talented actor/director like Ben Affleck.

You know what they say, If you never try, you'll never know!
