THE BOYS Are Back (& Bloodier Than Ever) In The First Official Teaser Trailer For Season 2

Here's an unexpected surprise, as Amazon Prime Video has just released the first official teaser trailer for The Boys season two, and it's every bit as big, bloody and insane as you could've hoped for!

Earlier today at CCXP 2019 in Brazil, Amazon Prime Video released the first official teaser trailer for The Boys season two, and it's everything fans could've hoped for as Billy Butcher (Karl Urban) and his gang get back to work on taking down The Seven. However, after the shocking revelations of last season's finale, it should be interesting to see how the dynamic between Billy and Homelander (Antony Starr) has evolved.

No word on a premiere date just yet, but the series has been confirmed to return in 2020 and if we were to wager a guess, it seems likely it'll debut on the streamer in that same third quarter summer window in July.

In addition to the returning cast of characters from The Boys and The Seven, new faces will include Aya Cash (You're the Worst) as Stormfront, Goran Višnjić (Timeless) as Alistair Adana, Claudia Doumit (Timeless) as Victoria Neuman and Patton Oswalt (A.P. Bio) in a top secret role. Giancarlo Esposito (Breaking Bad) and Malcolm Barrett (Timeless) have also been confirmed to reprise their roles as Mr. Edgar and Seth Reed, respectively.

Billy Butcher's (Karl Urban) dog Terror is also expected to have a more prominent role to play next year.

The critically acclaimed series is a live-action adaptation of the Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson comic of the same name, and was adapted for Amazon by executive producers Seth Rogen (Long Shot; Preacher) and Eric Kripke (Supernatural; Timeless).

Also, in cased you missed them, here are a pair of deleted scenes from season one:
THE BOYS is an irreverent take on what happens when superheroes, who are as popular as celebrities, as influential as politicians and as revered as Gods, abuse their superpowers rather than use them for good. It's the powerless against the super powerful as The Boys embark on a heroic quest to expose the truth about "The Seven," and their formidable Vought backing.

The Boys features:
Karl Urban as Billy Butcher
Elisabeth Shue as Madelyn Stillwell
Laz Alonso as Mother's Milk
Jack Quaid as "Wee" Hughie Campbell
Karen Fukuhara as Female
Tomer Kapon as Frenchie
Erin Moriarty as Annie January/Starlight
Antony Starr as The Homelander
Dominique McElligott as Queen Maeve
Jessie Usher as A-Train
Chace Crawford as The Deep
Nathan Mitchell as Black Noir
Jennifer Esposito as CIA Agent Susan Raynor
Simon Pegg as Hugh Campbell
Shantel VanSanten as Becca Butcher
Aya Cash as Stormfront
Malcolm Barret as Seth Reed
Goran Višnjić as Alistair Adana
Claudia Doumit as Victoria Neuman
Giancarlo Esposito as Mr. Edgar

I dont really care for how a bunch of the characters are written and the overall plot without compounded V, BUT...

Starr is killing it as Homelander.

Top 2 superhero shows that surprised me this year is The Boys and The Umbrella Academy. Those two shows raised the bar of my expectations of what a superhero show could be.

Interesting trailer, it shows most of the Season's shock value elements like the gore of the violence but is leaving out the character growth and emotional beats of S1, at least that is what I think.

Homelander better not harm Annie though! >C

Can't wait.

2019 was a great year for CB shows between The Boys, Watchmen, and Umbrella Academy. Hopefully COIE will serve as a satisfying nightcap.
