THE BOYS Season 4 Adds THE WALKING DEAD Star Jeffrey Dean Morgan

Though his role is being kept under wraps, Jeffrey Dean Morgan (The Walking Dead, Watchmen) is set to rejoin Supernatural showrunner Eric Kripke on the fourth season of Prime Video's The Boys.

Both Eric Kripke and Jeffrey Dean Morgan have dropped a few hints that the latter might be joining the cast of The Boys at some point, and it's now been made official: The Walking Dead alum is on board for the upcoming fourth season of the Prime Video series.

THR broke the news, but don't have many additional details to share, as Morgan's role is being kept under wraps. There's a decent chance he'll be playing a character created for the show, however, as pretty much all of the major players from the comic book have already been cast.

Whoever Morgan ends up playing, if he doesn't share a scene or two with Jensen Ackles' Soldier Boy, there's going to be Hell to pay!

Season 4 plot details are also a mystery for now, but we do know that fellow new cast members, Orange Is the New Black‘s Susan Heyward and The Following‘s Valorie Curry, will be joining the fray as rookie Supes Sister Sage and Firecracker, respectively. We also learned that Cameron Crovertti (Ryan) has been upped to series regular, which is hardly surprising after the sinister final shot of season 3.

During a recent interview with Collider, Kripke confirmed that Ryan will be focal point of the fourth season.

"Moving forward, Ryan is a really important part of it. Both Butcher and Homelander have very good reasons to fight over Ryan because the stakes could not be higher. If Ryan goes Homelander's way and then there are two Homelanders in the world, then that's a nightmare for the planet. If Butcher can get Ryan into the light, then that's probably actually the best weapon they have against Homelander. It's always been a show about family, and so much of Season 3 was about fathers, so I think it makes sense that Season 4 is about sons."

Ryan already seems to have chosen "Homelander's way," but that doesn't mean he's beyond saving. Butcher made a major mistake by pushing the easily-influenced youngster away in the false believe that he'd be safer without such a fatalistic father figure in his life, but this completely backfired when Victoria Neuman gave Homelander his son's location.

That only just leaves Jared Padalecki. And maybe if it's possible Misha Collins, it will all depends on schedules. But that shouldn't also be a problem anymore after SAG-AFTRA approved a deal that allows TV actors to appear on multiple shows at the same time.

I don’t see any love for Negan here, and I get it. It’s not because of him, it’s because of the show itself. So let me tell you, he really just shines in that role man. Rick v Negan came too late due to the repetitiveness already aggravating people by that point, but negan is a true “I was a born for this” zombie apocalypse BA. A monster, make no mistake. And JDM has too much time with him, cuz really, the best negan stuff… was very Comedian. All that to say, bring on Boys S4!
