The first three episodes of The Boys season 3 are now streaming on Prime Video, and the premiere features an ingenious cameo from none other than Charlize Theron.

The Academy Award-winning actress makes a brief appearance playing Stormfront (played by Aya Cash in season 2) in the trailer for Vought's latest Supe-blockbuster, Dawn of The Seven, and shares a funny exchange with Homelander.

Of course, Theron recently made another cameo as Clea in the mid-credits scene of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, and The Boys showrunner Eric Kripke has now revealed whether her MCU debut influenced her casting, and how they ended up landing the highly in-demand star in the first place.

“Like most cameos on our show, it follows the rigorous and stringent screening process of whoever returns Seth Rogen’s phone calls," Kripke explained to Variety. "She had just made The Long Shot with Seth, and to her incredible credit, she agreed to come on and help us out. I actually feel kind of bad about it, because I’m sure he positioned it like, ‘Hey, do us a favor, pop on camera and it’s a cameo.’ Then the next call is our costume designer, ‘OK, you need to come in and we need to design this super suit.’ She shows up on a whole big day of shooting with several camera crews and everything.

"But she was such an immensely great sport and is so funny," he added. "I mean, obviously, she’s in comedies, but watching her work up close and in person, the level with which she commits to the most ridiculous dialogue that anyone has ever said, it’s absurd. The heart and soul with which she delivers it is so funny and stunning. We were really lucky to have her.”

As it turns out, Theron's role in the Doctor Strange sequel was news to Kripke when he offered her the Stormfront part, but he's very pleased with the parallel! “I did not know this Doctor Strange thing was happening. My assumption is we asked her before,” he said. “But I was in the theater watching Doctor Strange with my kids and then that cameo came up and I was like, ‘Yes!’ Anything we can do to draw a line between us and Marvel is a good day.”

What did you guys make of Theron's cameo as Stormfront in The Boys? Have you watched all three episodes yet? Drop us a comment down below, and check out our full season review here.

Is no one gonna talk about the billy Zane cameo in the second episode though? I get Charlize Theron is the bigger deal, but come on. Not one zoolander meme? I'm not mad, just disappointed.

The boys to me is what James Gunn failed to do with Peacemaker💁

It's so damn good

@AmazingFILMporg - Peacemaker and The Boys are doing two entirely different things. Not sure why you would compare the two.

@AmazingFILMporg - but it's pretty obvious the boys and peacemaker were trying to do 2 different things. Simply because they are both r rated doesn't mean they are the same thing, with the same themes and messages.

@AmazingFILMporg - Weird. I thought Peacemaker really was funny. Imo in cases like this where you disagree with that many people just take it as difference in tastes rather than 'it sucks and you are nuts world'. YMMV.

@AmazingFILMporg - All the unneccessary backstory for characters weren't not supose to give a shit about like ATrain and Deep. First 2 episodes were good but I didn't care for the 3rd.

@c0ldR0b0t - Naw, they’re both r-rated, comedic deconstructions of the superhero genre, pretty similar if you ask me.

@soberchimera - I don’t see Peacemaker as a superhero deconstruction. It’s much more focused than that. The Boys is a broad deconstruction. Deadpool is closer to Peacemaker than The Boys.

Antony Starr's Homelander is up there with the best villain's I've ever seen in anything.

The guy is just a blast to watch.

At this point I'm just waiting on that Chekhov's gun Black Noir to do anything. I'm assuming he's an Edgar clone and his cause is to sabotage Vought.

I love this series and that first episode with Termite was just crazy as F*ck lmao , I had to speed it up cause I knew what was coming and didn’t want to see.

Also why is Soldier Boy getting so little spotlight ? They talk about him a lot but when they show him in flashbacks , he barely makes an impression. Hopefully the next episodes Change this.

I believe the only reason Black Noir was hurt so bad in this fight is because he was with Soldier Boy when the weapon was used (the weapon that nearly killed Soldier Boy). Notice how we never see the explosion happen and it happens off screen, we also saw Noir easily tank an explosion point blank from a supe who is obviously stronger than man made weapons
I haven't read the comics, but my theory is that there isn't exactly a "weapon" that killed Soldier Boy, but possibly a sort of anti-V serum that can take away superpowers from someone, and that's what they used on him. And they're hiding Solider Boy away so no one finds out. I think they will eventually use this anti-V serum on Homelander to take away his superpowers.
