Andrew Lincoln Praises The Cast Of The Walking Dead!

Rick Grimes himself talks about what it's been like working with such a great ensemble cast and specifically singles out Jeffrey DeMunn, who plays Dale, in the hit AMC show...

"DeMunn is the man. He's a terrific actor. He's a gentleman, one of the nicest guys, but he's got this kind of steel in him, this fierceness as well. There's also this lightness and deftness of touch, and so funny — he just is the guy."

"I think that this is probably one of the strongest ensembles I've ever had the privilege to work with. And the most beautiful thing is that there are characters who won't speak for like three or four episodes, and the camera will just kind of pan onto them and they break your heart. That continually happens."

"The cast, and we lost a few along the way, was about 18 strong. It was brilliant/It's just been one of the great gigs, irrespective of what happens now, it's been one of the great roles of my career."

Great series so far. Books are great too. Worth checking out by anyone, zombie fan or not! Keep up the great work!

The TV show is awesome and although it's so far failing to be as good as the comic book (undoubtedly one of the best series' I've ever read) it's still great overall. With a longer season next year, I really hope that they cover the prison/Govenor storyline or at least some version of it.

This show is freaking awesome, its got an good mixture of intensity, action, and even moments where you sit there and say 'holy crap, that's something I should do whenever zombies become a real threat!' lol

@ joshw

i think its got a fantastic cast, good quality acting, great writing & its bound to win some awards.

unlike a certain other comic related show(i'll try & say that without laughing)that if i remember rightly has never won an award.

Haha, you got that right deadpool72! :D I'm actually just about to watch the fourth episode online now, but the last three were all pure quality. I can't deny that it's a little disappointing that they seem to be heading away from the direction of the comic (big mistake when it's based on the work of a genius like Robert Kirkman) but it's still very faithful in terms of everything else and what they're doing seems interesting so I can't complain too much. They've gotta introduce the likes of Michonne and Tyrese next time though...such a pity this first season is only 6 episodes!

@Josh and Stubbyswof gotta agree that it sucks its only 6 episodes, but that just means that they put more quality into it right?

Walking Dead is BEAST so far.

Now, call me crazy, but with a little more gruff-ness (needs to buff up), and more intensity, Andrew Lincoln...Frank Castle?

this show is great! I just saw the latest episode this morning and I was in awe the whole time. It's one of those rare shows where you have absolutely no idea what's going to happen next; unlike other shows like Lost or Heroes where you have a sense of who the main characters are and who is expendable.

I missed episode 4 last night, I'll be catching it on demand tonight though. Fantastic series, and I'm not won over easily to follow a TV series. House is the only other one I follow, but mostly because my better half loves the show. Daryl, Dale, and Glen are my favorite characters thus far (and of course Mr. Grimes) and I hope at least 1 sticks around for a while... still waiting for a main/supporting character to become zombie fodder.

guys, its only 6 episodes because they were testing the waters to see how it would do. Can't fault them for that.

and though, for the most part, the show doesn't really follow the books, its still awesome. Although, if T-Dawg is supposed to be Tyreese then i'm jumping ship

I sure hope the quality doesn't drop if they increase the number of episodes.
