Did you tune into the premiere of AMC's hit show The Walking Dead last night? Well if you didn't, it seemed like you were the only one. The show's third season kicked off last night and was met with huge ratings numbers. According to TVline's initial reports 10.9 Million viewers tuned it. The show put up huge numbers despite not having Dish Network broadcast it. To give you perspective on it, 7.3 million viewers tuned in to watch the season two premiere. That huge number was followed by almost 9 million viewers for the season two finale. The nearly 11 million earned the show the title of Most watched TV Drama in history.

great great show season 3 is gonna be epic.. On a side note i bet hershel wishes he had the invulnerability cheat code on though. Unlimited ammo dosen't work when zombie is chewing your leg off.

god i love this show! so stressful, but i love it!

im doing a mud run this Saturday called Run for Your Lives and it has zombies chasing you through the entire 5k. was watching Walking Dead and thinking about how its gonna feel when zombies are chasing me this weekend... probably scar me for life, but hell, its for charity!!

Only thing that pissed me off about this show was why the hell did they bring Hershel to clear the prison, the one guy that has a medical background?! Retarded...But besides that hiccup this season started out awesome.

Loved it, loved it, but hated that Herschel was bitten; he really should have stayed with the ladies and Carl. Well my guess is that they're going to find some contraption and fashion a prosthetic leg or some sorts for him.

I didn't get to see it last night cause I don't have cable anymore. Soooooo pissed!!
Nonetheless, I'm going to buy it via apple iTunes and watch it later today. This sucks not being able to click on any TWD stories on here and I can't read anyones comments due to spoilers. It's very good news for the series though!

it was sweet, but i get so mad at how dumb everyone seems to be some times, i dont care if you think its dead, cary a stabbing stick and push it through the eye socket. always check your corners and check behind and under your car. I dont care if you have been in the house 1000 times, when you leave and come back, you clear it room by room. its a [frick]ing zombie apocolypse, dont be dumb.

OK, now I watched it and loved it. They really pushed events along faster than normal. Hershel will probably last till the midseason finalle. It will be interesting to see how they interact with the others in the prison. Daryl is still a badass mofo! SWAT Walkers!!!

Amazing ratings beating out most weekly broadcast shows in viewers and beating all of this seasons 18-49 viewers for broadcast. But just to clarify this isnt true "The nearly 11 million earned the show the title of Most watched TV Drama in history." Actually it earned the title of most watched basic cable TV drama in history. Ncis gets like 12-15 million viewers every week, and many ither shows get higher to.

@ CaptainObvious, good call, but even still I would think they would clear it out first considering it's a prison. That means a lot of possible zombies running around. Then grab Hershel.

Still, it's a small hiccup, I'm glad he's not dead either because he's turning into a bad ass old man.
