In the highly anticipated new season, we find Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) and the group fostering a thriving community in the safe haven of the prison. Sadly, in this brutal world, happiness is short-lived and walkers and outside threats are no match for danger brewing inside the fences. The group’s home and new way of life will be thoroughly tested, and their struggle to survive has never been so perilous. Season 4 also introduces several new characters including Bob Stookey (Lawrence Gilliard Jr., "The Wire").

The Walking Dead stars: Andrew Lincoln, Jon Bernthal, Laurie Holden, Jeffrey DeMunn, Scott Wilson, Emily Kinney, Sarah Wayne Callies, Steven Yeun, Chandler Riggs, Norman Reedus, Iron E. Singleton, Madison Lintz, Danai Gurira, Melissa Suzanne McBride, Michael Rooker, Lauren Cohan, Vincent M. Ward, Chad L. Coleman, and David Morrissey.

I wonder if they will explain the death of Shumpert. While he may have not had much dialogue, he has had hell of alot of screen time

@655321 Story building my friend, its developing a way to build up characters so you care about them instead of meaningless deaths like the first couple episodes of S4. The solo stories are my favourite ones. Would love to see a solo have seen a solo Martinez episode prior to The Governor.

@aTHORableSight- I agree. The writers should turn him into a one-dimensional antagonist with no humanity or motivation driving him. It would go to show how boring the human imagination can be.

It's only obvious. He want's to take his new found people someplace safe. And where does he know that's safe? The prison. Now will they except the new people with the governor?

@Joker11

the opening song was "The Last Pale Light In The West" by Ben Nichols, who is the lead singer for Lucero (awesome band by the way)

@Angel01

Thats what I was thinking, Hes gonna get them to the prison, whether he goes in with them or not, he just wants to make sure they are safe somewhere.

If he doesnt go with them he'll just lead them there and disappear, So when Rick asks how they got there they'll just say a friend named Brian brought them, never knowing it was The Governor so they dont get turned away and that he truly did care for their safety and helped them.

Funny u should mention the episode Clear cuz to me that is the best episode in the entire series, very emotional and well written and acted.

It seems there are some idiots who just want a one dimensional bad guy in the Gov.
Screw that,this latest episode was fantastic. Shows a true development of emotion & character.

That episode also could be the start of an entire series. Imagine we knew nothing of the Gov before or Rick & Company...The Walking Dead is a great,great series. Eat shit haters.

@Rhinoman developing a way to build up characters is fine, but not the gov! He should have been killed off last season. We already know he had a heart seeing his zombie daughter. We all know he is evil with the way we saw him act. We know enough. We are watching as show about the people in the prison, not the tool bags that are messing with them. He is pointless now...and even if you made a ep to develop character.... that ep last nite was boring a hell! nothing happen. There was no development of the gov. He gave up on life, then found some people. Helped them out, boned on, treated the lil girl like his. There was no development, just boredom!

I'm with 655321,
This episode was boring, and this character development, wasn't development at all. He barely said two words. He's alone, finds a family, who are idiotically open to having him around, makes a half ass run through the old folks home, then falls in a hole. I didn't feel as if the family had any reason to take him in, I didn't feel as if the Gov had any reason to feel attached to the family. We had a whole season of developing his character, now we have to develop it again? The old folks scene was ridiculous, he just runs the O2 cart into the walkers, wth are you doing.
