Conceptual illustrator Andy Poon discusses designing Arrow's version of Deathstroke:
"I looked up every single version of him that has been done to find key elements but also things that has been done. Almost everything has been done........ so the only strong direction is to stick to the style of the show and ground him. The Arkham version is super cool but has a lot of more fantastic elements that I can stay away from, his armors are almost abit medieval inspired. I was also excited when Costume Designer Maya Mani told me that they are finally open to more hard body armor and even some colors other than the black and greys!"

ARROW TEAMS UP WITH LAUREL TO FIND THE MAN IN THE MASK — Oliver (Stephen Amell) is conflicted after Laurel (Katie Cassidy) reaches out to the Arrow asking him to investigate Sebastian Blood (guest star Kevin Alejandro). Oliver is unsure whether to believe her accusations against the man he has publically supported for mayor, but decides to trust Laurel. However, when the pair gets too close to the truth, Sebastian exposes Laurel’s drug addiction and has her arrested. Meanwhile, Roy (Colton Haynes) reveals his new super-strength to Sin (guest star Bex Taylor-Klaus) who wants to test out his abilities. Unfortunately, Roy isn’t able to contain his rage once unleashed and almost kills a man. Back on the island, Oliver is surprised when Sarah (guest star Caity Lotz) reveals a secret about Laurel. Glen Winter directed the episode written by Wendy Mericle & Beth Schwartz.

wow these look a lot better than the finished product. i guess art can only be converted over to tv so well.. looks less like a hockey mask and more like a ninja

@Vegeta

It's probably a little wider for the final costume because that actor that plays Slade is a monster, I don't think his head could fit into a helmet that was lean looking lol.

Maybe it was just the way it was filmed but the mask looked pretty terrible. The whole thing could have been from K-mart. Still looking forward to episodes of it looking better, the actor totally sells it, he would be great in a Batman movie.

I guess they couldn't get THAT close with a TV budget. But the finished product still looks great.

The first 5 head shots look pretty much the same. Subtle differences that none of us would have noticed on screen.

NOOO! Number 1! They should have used number 1! On the final design sheet number 1 more resembles his mask from teen titans!...the real teen titans not that garbage go.

@19001560 They probably had a hard enough time adapting this concept suit on a TV budget... I doubt the Injustice Suit would be less expensive and easier to make.

Like all the concept art better than the variation they went with. Agreed with any and all who said they need to redesign the blink side eye. it truly is distracting. That said, for the first live action (smallville doesn't count) Slade, it's a great design with an almost great mask.

Great looking design for Deathstroke,Bennet totally sells it. I'm sure over time there will be more modifications. Season two of Arrow has been great. Would like to see Arrow go up against Deathstroke and Deadshot at the same time.

The Arrow writers don't get the Batman style-Ninja vanish thing and they are overdoing it anyway.
The vanish doesn't happen right in front of people. At the end of this scene Slade vanishes right in front of Blood.
Arrow also vanished while Blood was looking at him in his office 2 weeks ago.
And I think I've seen other instances of the vanish done wrong.

In order for Arrow or Slade to do a vanish in front of someone looking at them they would need a teleporter or teleporter powers. Super speed. Invisibility powers. Or do a Prof x and freeze them, leave and release them.

People claiming it looks awful are forgetting that there's an actual person inside... with a nose, cheeks, and a forehead.
