ARROW: Diggle's In Trouble In The New Promo For Season 7, Episode 19: "Spartan"

While Laurel Lance (Katie Cassidy) may have returned to Earth-2 for now, TV Line has confirmed that Cassidy hasn't left the series and will be back before the end of the season, which should be welcome news to fans of the true Black Canary. Showrunner Beth Schwartz reveals, “Katie does not leave the show; she comes back this season. It appears like [she leaves], but it’s not true. She’s still [part of the show].

Meanwhile, it looks like next week's installment will be a Diggle-centric (David Ramsey) episode as he's forced to reach out to a former acquaintance (Ernie Hudson) for help in stopping the Ninth Circle, but it doesn't look like everything's going to go according to plan.

"Spartan" - (9:00-10:00 p.m. ET) (TV-14, V) (HDTV)

ERNIE HUDSON ("GHOSTBUSTERS") GUEST STARS - After the Ninth Circle delivers a major setback for Team Arrow, Diggle (David Ramsey) reluctantly reaches out to a Four-Star General of the Defense Intelligence Agency (guest star Ernie Hudson) for help, despite unresolved tension from their past. Meanwhile, Oliver (Stephen Amell) discovers a piece of information that he believes will turn Emiko (Sea Shimooka) against the Ninth Circle. Alena (guest star Kacey Rohl) returns with an interesting proposal for Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards). Avi Youabian directed the episode written by Benjamin Raab & Deric A. Hughes (#719). Original airdate 4/22/2019.

After a violent shipwreck, billionaire playboy Oliver Queen was missing and presumed dead for five years before being discovered alive on a remote island in the North China Sea. He returned home to Star City, bent on righting the wrongs done by his family and fighting injustice. As the Green Arrow, he protects his city with the help of former soldier John Diggle, computer-science expert Felicity Smoak, former protégé Roy Harper, brilliant inventor Curtis Holt, street-savvy Rene Ramirez and meta-human Dinah Drake. Oliver will find himself vulnerable in a way unlike ever before when a mysterious new enemy begins to unravel his work as Green Arrow, forcing him to redeem his name or risk losing everything.

Good episode, quite fun and enjoyable. Some really nice fight scenes too. Was great to have Sara back on the show too, her entrance was badass; parts of the episode certainly felt like season 2. Some nice speeches between characters, both in the present and future. Highlights include Felicity to Laurel, Sara to Laurel, and future Dinah to Mia. Also, did Felicity kill all those bad guys when she detonated the bomb? Thought that was pretty funny.

Was a big surprise to say goodbye to Black Siren in the present, wasn't expecting that. Was really nice to have Felicity pass her the Black Canary mantle though with OG Laurel's suit. But holy smokes was Laurel's return in the future unexpected!!

Next week's episode looks like it will be quite good, looking forward to more Dante.

@dracula - Oh, okay. I thought you were talking about comic book shows in general. Cloak and Dagger is a good show, the tone is very similar to the Netflix shows.

BE WARNED:

Endgame footage was screened at a fan event and someone taped it. It's online, and it is SPOILERY.

@Havenless - I watched it. VERY SPOILERY

It is NOT a single scene. It cuts back and forth throughout the film, you get an overview of the plot + the ending.

@StormXmen123 - without spoiling details... more epic then Infinity War? Oorrrr nnahh?

StormXmen123 - 4/15/2019, 8:52 PM
@XelCorp - if we deem the Titan battle to be the most epic part of IW, then it is defiantly aiming bigger.

It seems to have a lot of fan service moments/situations.

@StormXmen123 - Wait that doesn't make any sense, why would the russos work so hard to keep everything about endgame under wraps and tight lipped only to just say [frick] it and show spoilery footage at a fan event that shows bits about the ending?

My favourite moment of the episode was the speech of why Dinah created the Canaries in the future as a support group to the women of Star City, a really poignant message and needed specially today.

Unfortunately she told it to Mia just when she was feeling bratty, geez. She definitely acted a whole lot more like Oliver in his first vigilante days. Way too edgy. But seems she needed action and examples to be set straight so 2040's E2 Laurel did the trick. Thank God she gets to live after all.

I thought Shadow Thief's costume logo was a little reminiscent of Nightwing's if I am being honest.

It kinda seemed like that person that was hunting her and Zoe was just like that “Chimera” military man from the documentary episode, could be wrong.

The plot in the present was ok except it had to repeat a lot the speeches of “she is beyond redemption” and “no she isn’t” from Dinah and Felicity over and over, I got the point the first two times.

Sara's words reaching to Laurel and making her want to return to her Earth was actually well executed. Only a Lance can get through a Lance.

The episode however definitely needed more Oliver, no doubt about that.

“Dante has been pulling the strings all along” is quite the understatement of every single comic book villain to be fair. :P

Took me a while to realize it was the big Longbow Hunter they found, but can’t recall why he was even there and not in jail.

Sleepy Oliver in the end with Felicity was cute I admit.

The next episode seems like Dante will introduce Diggle to a world of pain, preview looks chilling.
