Next week, after Laurel Lance (Katie Cassidy) uncovers some seriously damaging information about Emiko (Sea Shimooka), Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) partners with his former flame's Earth-2 doppelgänger to uncover the dark truth about his mysterious new sister, and it doesn't sound like he's going to be particularly pleased with what they discover.

However, when things take a turn for the worst, Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) will be forced to make a tough decision between her husband and her new friend, which could have serious ramifications moving forward.

LAUREL TEAMS UP WITH OLIVER - Laurel (Katie Cassidy) learns about some damaging information that affects Emiko (Sea Shimooka). Always looking to protect his sister, Oliver (Stephen Amell) invites Laurel to help investigate, which makes Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) happy as her friend is now working with the team. However, when things go awry, Felicity is forced to make a choice between the team and Laurel. Patia Prouty directed the episode written by Sarah Tarkhoff & Elizabeth Kim (#717). After a violent shipwreck, billionaire playboy Oliver Queen was missing and presumed dead for five years before being discovered alive on a remote island in the North China Sea. He returned home to Star City, bent on righting the wrongs done by his family and fighting injustice. As the Green Arrow, he protects his city with the help of former soldier John Diggle, computer-science expert Felicity Smoak, former protégé Roy Harper, brilliant inventor Curtis Holt, street-savvy Rene Ramirez and meta-human Dinah Drake. Oliver will find himself vulnerable in a way unlike ever before when a mysterious new enemy begins to unravel his work as Green Arrow, forcing him to redeem his name or risk losing everything.

Pretty good episode tonight, very fun and enjoyable! Some nice humor and meta references too (Mia's joke about Dale certainly wanting to get in touch with William was good, ha).

Right off the bat, huge surprise with the return of Nyssa!! Always a pleasure to see Katrina Law on the show, now we know that Oliver and Felicity had Nyssa train Mia, and I can imagine that Oliver had Nyssa watch over and protect Mia in his absence. Its also now clear why no one is aware of Mia's existence, and I guess that when Felicity goes to give birth to Mia, she (and maybe Oliver??) doesn't return to Star City.

It was nice to really delve into the future and spend time with everyone, especially Mia and Will and their relationship together. Its also apparent that Connor and Mia were/are a thing. I thought Katherine McNamara did a pretty good job tonight; her perspective made sense, even if there was a little forced drama at times. She also did a great job with the fight scenes, scenes that were really nice and well choreographed.

Felicity and William's reunion was really nice, like how William is so pro Vigilante and pro Green Arrow and helping his mom out to do the right thing, no hesitation at all. Some nice dialogue tonight too about what it means to be a hero. Was neat also that Felicity goes by the Calculator in the future. And man was it great to have the gang all back together in the future too. Seeing the old Team Arrow in action in the future was so awesome. Especially Roy dressed up as Arsenal again; and my god, that flip he did taking down a guard was GLORIOUS!!! I was very, very happy seeing that, lol. Someone, I need a gif of that now!!

Interesting that Felicity essentially creates a version of Skynet with Archer that backfires on her. And we still don't have any confirmation of Oliver's whereabouts, though he is spoken of to a young Katherine Mia in the present tense...

Also, I found it a little funny that Rene doesn't have his characteristic facial scar in the future scenes. Guess he had plastic surgery, lol.

Anyways, pretty good episode, and I think it makes a really strong case for an Arrow spinoff with a "New Team Arrow" featuring this future cast of vigilantes right here.

Next week's episode looks good. So far, this has been a really good week for DC shows with strong Supergirl and Arrow episodes, helping make up for last week's less than average DC TV week.
