SYNOPSIS: After a violent shipwreck, billionaire playboy Oliver Queen was missing and presumed dead for five years before being discovered alive on a remote island in the Pacific. When he returns home to Starling City, his devoted mother Moira, much-beloved sister Thea, and best friend Tommy welcome him home, but they sense Oliver has been changed by his ordeal on the island. While Oliver hides the truth about the man he's become, he desperately wants to make amends for the actions he took as the boy he was. Most particularly, he seeks reconciliation with his former girlfriend, Laurel Lance. As Oliver reconnects with those closest to him, he secretly creates the persona of Arrow - a vigilante to right the wrongs of his family, fight the ills of society, and restore Starling City to its former glory. By day, Oliver plays the role of a wealthy, carefree and careless philanderer he used to be - flanked by his devoted chauffeur/bodyguard, John Diggle - while carefully concealing the secret identity he turns to under cover of darkness. However, Laurel's father, Detective Quentin Lance, is determined to arrest the vigilante operating in his city. Meanwhile, Oliver's own mother, Moira, knows much more about the deadly shipwreck than she has let on and is more ruthless than he could ever imagine.

Kick ass show. It learned from the fate of Heroes to do away with the overly long boring back story build-up episodes. Everything is fast paced and action packed in this show.

I find it hilarious that Oliver is training Diggs considering David Ramsey actual background in martial arts.

I still wonder why we never get to see him wear a leather mask.

Arrow has not disappointed me, surprisingly good.

All I care about is that they start actually having the heroes and villains wear at least adapted versions of their costumes outside of Arrow, Huntress, and Deathstroke. I am okay with Firefly not flying, I just really want him to wear some type of bug-looking mask.

I like it!

Though I do think it's kind of a little on-the-nose having Arrow disappear for six weeks after the last episode, and having the media make a big deal about it. After all, Arrow is basically aping the Dark Knight formula and applying to to Green Arrow, so making such a transparent Dark Knight Rises allusion (the hero's been gone for six weeks/eight years! Will he ever return?) seems a bit much.

(Sure, he was actually recouperating from his attack in "Year's End", so that's why he was gone, but they didn't need to make such a big deal about it!)

I can't wait to see what Firefly looks like. From the last preview, I think he's just wearing standard fireman gear (a gas mask and a fire helmet, at least), but I kinda hope there's a bit more to it than that. Either way, I'm definitely looking forward to the next episode!

I think the fact that they kept his face hidden for the most part is an indication that his mask will have some sort of bug element.

Cool. Can't wait for January. It makes me wonder though which DC characters could appear in Season 2 &3
