"After a violent shipwreck, billionaire playboy Oliver Queen was missing and presumed dead for five years before being discovered alive on a remote island in the Pacific. When he returns home to Starling City, his devoted mother Moira, much-beloved sister Thea, and best friend Tommy welcome him home, but they sense Oliver has been changed by his ordeal on the island. While Oliver hides the truth about the man he’s become, he desperately wants to make amends for the actions he took as the boy he was. Most particularly, he seeks reconciliation with his former girlfriend, Laurel Lance. As Oliver reconnects with those closest to him, he secretly creates the persona of Arrow – a vigilante – to right the wrongs of his family, fight the ills of society, and restore Starling City to its former glory. By day, Oliver plays the role of a wealthy, carefree and careless philanderer he used to be – flanked by his devoted chauffeur/bodyguard, John Diggle – while carefully concealing the secret identity he turns to under cover of darkness. However, Laurel’s father, Detective Quentin Lance, is determined to arrest the vigilante operating in his city. Meanwhile, Oliver’s own mother, Moira, knows much more about the deadly shipwreck than she has let on – and is more ruthless than he could ever imagine."

Why is no one ever happy on this show? Everyone is always so angry or sad or guiltridden or moody or brooding or tweaked, hell even the tweaked ones are afraid, not mellow and happy. Never happy. never content, never satisfied. The suicide rate in Starling City and the Glades must be astronomical. That is not a life.

It's better than agents of shield, therefore making it the best comic show, yes including TWD. Death stroke looks badass, glad they didn't use the island design

Sorry maybe they can take all the characters to Disneyland to cheer them up, or maybe they are all sad from watching Agents of Shield every week.

I just got done watching Arrow like 20 mins. ago. That episode was awesome!

When Oliver disconnected the detonator with an arrow and Shrapnel was completely surprised, he just walks over to him like it was no big deal and drops him. That was so badass!

And I thought I couldn't hate Sebastian Blood any more, but then we found out he his forcing his mom to pretend to be insane by threatening her to keep quiet about his past. This guy needs to be stopped.

Next weeks episode looks like pretty big; we see Slade start to become Deathstroke. I can't wait!

DJMAZ07 did not specify comcbook shows, he said "
Best show on TV Right now I LOVE IT!"
I never mentioned SHIELD or The Walking Dead, but I would not say that either is the best show on TV right now, although Walking Dead is in the top ten and neither Arrow nor SHIELD are close to that.

This is one of the major failings with Arrow. There is never a lite hearted, happy moment. Everyone is rushing from oe fight to the next, on and on and on. A smile is such a rare fleeting thing on Arrow that when they finaly appear, they looked forced, as though the actor has gas instead, well atleast the Oliver character's smile does. Felicity and Diggle have nice smiles when they actually do smile.
This is the Nolanization of this show. Everyone and Everything has to be dark and brooding. Hey the fight scenes are some of the best done on TV.

Is this really how you want your Heroes to be? My friends in the military are some of my heroes, real life badasses and yet they are some of the funniest people you could ever meet.BTW I never mentioned SHIELD, this has nothing to do with that show.

First off, I consider trolling, what you and Joemama29 do, purposely go on an article for a show that you strongly dislike or even hate, with the seeming intentions of aggravating the people who actually like the show. You cram your opinion at them over and over, on article after article and nothing said will ever disuade you from commiting this act repeatedly. That is trolling in my opinion.
I happen to like Arrow. It is a good action vehicle but that doesn't mean that is doesn't have flaws, every show does. Pointing out those flaws does not mean that I am trolling or that dislike the show. I except Arrow for the type of show that it is, that is what adults do.

I know that you are still smarting from me shutting you down on the Victoria Hand article but you will have to move on.

It is a freakin TV show, I am sorry you claim that the Walking Dead is one of the best shows on television yet do you see them having any happy moments, why because of what is going on around their surroundings.

And I hate to tell you but there has been plenty of happy moments where they smile, hug, and laugh you just chose not to watch them or remember them.

Arrow is very good at doing what is does. I enjoyed The Expendables for what it was. I did not go into it expecting Ocean's Eleven. People should except what there is or leave it alone.

Season 2 Arrow>Season 4 TWD. TWD was better but not in it's current airing. There is no other show I get excited to see the next episode more for then Arrow right now. I also always catch it live instead on DVR like other shows.

I recognize and mentioned that there are those moments, I also said that they are rare and fleeting moments. How else would I have known that Felicity and Diggle have nice smiles?
The Walking Dead is on another level from Arrow and SHIELD. It is about the human condition when faced with daunting adversity, how we ,as humans, respond. That is deep stuff.

Hey I have question. Why is Oliver the only dude on the show having sex? I mean even that is rare, which is odd for a show full of young attractive people. I am sure that David Ramsey wants to bump uglys with someone.
Battabing
Battabing - 1/16/2014, 7:48 AM
@Marvelous,

Are you really trying to fill the hole Intruder left behind?
Ollie's not the only one having sex. Diggle's been reconnecting and sexing his ex-wife.

Seriously, go back to keeping a stiff upper lip for your happy-go-lucky Agents of SHIELD.

You are pointing to one episode and I am referring to the series as a whole. These are hard situations but everyone needs to decompress. I have learned from friends in the military and in law enforcement that you cannot be on, all of the time because it will catch up to you. Have beers with friends, as we do, tell war stories about college or date night or freaking something. The characters on Arrow are going from fight to fight and they have never let them develop beyond that. I know that there are a lot of young men who secretly, and some not so secretly, desire to be a bad ass, so this is their fantasy, but wouldn't you like them to have some semblance of normalcy?

As far as Diggle goes, you mean the episode where she was rescued from Russia and then going back to Amanda Waller? Sorry mate, no sex in that episode for Diggle. Oliver, on the other hand, while his friend was in danger, was topping off Isabel's ink well, wasn't he?

I like that you all seem to think that there is a problem with humor and why do so many of you keep bringing up SHIELD when I did not. My focus is on Arrow, why do so many of you run from that and deflect by using a different show? So many of you are caught in the Nolan zone and can't recognize it

Suddenly so angry, why is that? I said I except Arrow for the type of show that it is. It is an action vehicle, charging down the road, full tilt boogey. There is nothing wrong with that. Just pointing out that the characters could be much deeper and more developed. No need for the hostility.

HUH! I wonder why??????? Anyways I cannot take someone serious for getting down on a show for a lack of sex errrrr I mean relationships and character development........
MarvelousAgentX
MarvelousAgentX - 1/16/2014, 8:41 AM
@Joemama,
I wasn't looking for sex on the show. I was asking why it is that Oliver is the only guy on the show doing so.
I watched Batman in the 60's because I was young and it was a good show for it's time, campy and silly and entertaining as all hell.
If you want to see the fighting and costumes and DC characters by the buttload, then Arrow satisfies that need. I like the show and watch it every week. I only bristle when people say that it is the best show on TV, I know that this is their opinion but when stated as fact, ugh.

Once again it is you bringing up SHIELD in defense of Arrow, why would you need to do that? I have not raised the issue of SHIELD unless it was in response to someone else, and I have not said one word in defense of SHIELD while writing on this article. How is that trolling?
This is not an article about SHIELD so I will not discuss it with you but, I will say that all three shows are based on Comic Book lore, they just go about it in different ways and I enjoy all three.

Wait a second...Does Oliver reveal his identity to Detective Lance? I don't know how to feel about that. Lance may be starting to come to his senses, but I don't know if he's to be fully trusted with Oliver's Identity.
