"After a violent shipwreck, billionaire playboy Oliver Queen was missing and presumed dead for five years before being discovered alive on a remote island in the Pacific. When he returns home to Starling City, his devoted mother Moira, much-beloved sister Thea, and best friend Tommy welcome him home, but they sense Oliver has been changed by his ordeal on the island. While Oliver hides the truth about the man he’s become, he desperately wants to make amends for the actions he took as the boy he was. Most particularly, he seeks reconciliation with his former girlfriend, Laurel Lance. As Oliver reconnects with those closest to him, he secretly creates the persona of Arrow – a vigilante – to right the wrongs of his family, fight the ills of society, and restore Starling City to its former glory. By day, Oliver plays the role of a wealthy, carefree and careless philanderer he used to be – flanked by his devoted chauffeur/bodyguard, John Diggle – while carefully concealing the secret identity he turns to under cover of darkness. However, Laurel’s father, Detective Quentin Lance, is determined to arrest the vigilante operating in his city. Meanwhile, Oliver’s own mother, Moira, knows much more about the deadly shipwreck than she has let on – and is more ruthless than he could ever imagine."

Hopefully by next season they'll stop with the flashbacks... That part of the show is getting tiresome right now.

Yeah. Enough with the flashbacks. It makes me wonder how much acid Ollie's done in his life.

I have to admit that in most cases the flashbacks help provide a basis for what is to come. Without them you wouldn’t really understand why Slade has built a vendetta against Green Arrow. However, I will say that I hope next season they move on without the flashbacks. Find a good way to close them out completely and then just work hard to introduce The Flash in a tangible manner that parallels the show.
Just my opinion though, and outside of that I do enjoy the show.

No, keep flashbacks. Love them, and a chance to see even more villains on the show.

Flashbacks rulezz, and producers said many times - they plan 5 seasons for flashbacks! All 5 years he was lost from home, a year in a season. So there will be many flashbacks! Hater go away watch shitty-SHIELD with no flashbacks and NOTHING from comics books. Arrow is awesome! Great comic book tv-show!

This show is amazing. I hope DC decide to connect the shows with the movies so the wait for BvS won't feel as long. Season 3 should end with the attack on Metropolis.

Watched ConAir, last night. And I swear I saw David Ramsey (John Diggle) in it. The bit where they needed 3 convicts to be gagged and bagged and taken of the plane. Looked really young. Anyhow great show but Arrow could do with a better outfit then the cruudy hood.

the flashbacks will be on till season 5, the producers have said that they have a 5 season outline and that involves the flashbacks, they have said they plan to have the final scene of the flashbacks be the first scene of the pilot in which oliver gets rescued off the island
