ARROW Star Katherine McNamara Promoted To Series Regular For The Show's Eighth & Final Season

After playing a key recurring role in the most recent season of The CW's Arrow, Katherine McNamara (Shadowhunters) has been promoted to a series regular for the upcoming final season of the superhero show.

Katherine McNamara made her debut in the seventh season of Arrow, playing a mysterious character going by the name Black Star during one of the show’s numerous flash-forward scenes.

However, as fans quickly learned, McNamara’s deadly cage fighter was actually Mia Queen, the secret daughter of Oliver Queen and Felicity Smoak.

And while she certainly played a key role in Season 7, it looks like fans will see even more of Mia Smoak when the show returns this fall, as Katherina McNamara has been promoted to a series regular for the upcoming final season.

Season 8 of Arrow is currently scheduled to premiere October 8, 2019 on The CW network and will see Stephen Amell, David Ramsey, Juliana Harkavy, and Rick Gonzalez return to reprise their respective roles.

The future Star City story was really boring. I was hoping the final season would focus on Oliver only.

They will either have the future Star City as a subplot like in the previous Season or maybe Oliver and Mia will actually interact through the plot as it builds towards Crisis on Infinite Earths. Assuming all Earths AND all timelines are put in jeopardy.

I'd like that tbh, would be like using the best of both worlds while pursuing the same goal. I don't know what else they could do with her with just a 10th order amount of episodes.

And if Oliver interacts with Mia that also means sharing screen time with Connor.

So...arrow is ending after messing up black canary and green arrow I remember how excited I was at first to see that relationship play off...and how the show runners were supposedly excited too...just wow.

Can't wait for the final season, its been one hell of a ride with Arrow and the show will leave quite a void when the credits role on the final episode. Last season was great, looking forward to what they have in store for us. One last ride...

Yeah that’s how I feel

As an amazing actor as Stephen Amell is (sarcasm) the shows much better when it’s focused on him. It is called Arrow after all, and yes, like a trillion ppl have been arrow at this point, but let’s refocus on the main character please. This is the last season after all.

Last season was probably the worst of the entire series specifically bc of that future story line that was weak as hell.

@GeekLegionofDoom - Yeah, I originally gave up/dropped this show when they killed off Black Canary... Unfortunately I had to come back and watch what I missed/catch up because it's all connected, and this show has gone downhill...

It went from a superhero show to a political drama to orange is the new black finally to an annoying cop drama/procedural crime drama with flash-forwards to some dystopian wasteland... I'm just happy that we only have ten more episodes to force down, otherwise I would drop Arrow once again.

Damn i was hopefull they wouldnt return to future land and olivers and felicity daughter. After oliver got out of prison the show went downhill quickly. Kind of glad its ending because i dont see it getting any better.

Thank god this shit show is finally coming to an end.

I will never forgive them for how they not only mistreated the Black Canary, but also killed her off for a fan-made ship.
