Arrow returns for its eighth and final season in just over a month, and earlier today, The CW released ten new promotional stills from the season premiere, offering an intriguing first look at Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) embarking on his top secret mission for the Monitor (LaMonica Garrett).

While it's hard to determine what exactly is going on, the photos do feature a first look at the returns of Moira Queen (Susanna Thompson) and Tommy Merlyn (Colin Donnell). Plus, we also get a great new photo of the new-and-improved Black Siren (Katie Cassidy) suit.

It's the final season. We deserve to see the van dyke beard.

Why the hell did they kill Laurel/Black Canary if the actress is still in the show?

What this show did to her is just unforgivable.

@KoolerThanJesus - Yeah, it makes no sense to me either. They should have just revived Earth-1 Laurel instead of bringing in another Laurel from another earth. Or even if they did want to replace her... They still should have brought her back to life, and sent her away to some place for a better life (Like they did with Roy, and Thea). They even teased us both in the Flash and Legends of Tomorrow, and yet she's still dead.

Earth-1 Laurel deserves better. I'll never forgive the show, and it's runners for this.

@KoolerThanJesus - from what I can tell is they killed her off with intentions of keeping her dead. But she signed on to pop up on other shows (hence why she appeared from Earth 2 on the flash) then the new showrunners on Arrow saw what a mistake it was and used earth 2 as an excuse to bring her back

@KoolerThanJesus - like an idiot I waited sooo long for Green Arrow to get with Black Canary. Especially after laurel came back with the real canary cry I though it was on. But no. They did terribly things to her character and he never left that chick Felicity which I can’t stand. I don’t know if I’m in the minority but I couldn’t stand her. Just give me Green Arrow Black Canary. Man I’ve been so over this show.

I should have known given the shorter episode order we would get right into this new Tommy.

It's nice to see Moira again.

The team up with Diggle (ours?) and Laurel looks good. They appear they will use to their best ability the remaining episodes to tie up things well.

I'm so confused by what's going on with this final season of the show. Thank goodness it's the final season we have to watch though. Which is a shame because this show started off so well then misstep after misstep ruined it.

I already mentioned the Laurel thing (although didn't touch on the fact that they killed her off for Olicity), and the Felicity drama (I initially dropped the show when she was cured of her disability just so she could LITERALLY WALK OUT ON OLIVER). I come back to watch it (cause these shows are connected) and the show (to my dismay) became less of a superhero show and more of a political thriller (at first) then cop drama where they all tossed aside the idea of a secret identity.

Now we have all these pre-show releases, and I'm just confused. Why are these old characters returning, and why is Queen Manor back? Unless some timey-wimey shenanigans are occurring (which I doubt). It could be another earth, a dream (like that one crossover), or a simulation.

Although, I'm at the point I just don't care. I'm watching this show cause it's connected to everything else I care about. Will be glad when I don't have to anymore, unless they manage to turn things around (which I seriously doubt) before this show/season is wrapped up.

The more I see it the more I’m liking the new suit. Think it’s the oversized look of the good. Exciting to see how this all closes out
