After the events that took place in the ending of this past Wednesday's Arrow, many fans speculated that the character of Floyd Lawton/Deadshot (Michael Rowe) would likely be coming back next season with a significant role due to the episode setting up the orginization H.I.V.E.. Now it seems that won't be the case as Arrow executive producer, Marc Guggenheim, was asked on his official tumblr whether there was a chance that Floyd Lawton/Deadshot would be a regular next season to which he responded with: "Unfortunately, Deadshot is off the table for the nonce". It now seems that the reason the events with Deadshot took place in this past Wednesday's episode are indeed what many fans speculated: Warner Bros. told the CW to pull the plug on Arrow's Deadshot as they have plans for him in David Ayer's Suicide Squad film.
While this news is pretty disappointing because it seemed like Deadshot would have played a significant part in the season four story arc. This also brings up a lot of questions as to how the DC cinematic universe will affect the CW's DC universe. Will characters that the CW has used like Slade Wilson/Deathstroke (Manu Bennet) and Digger Harkness/Captain Boomerang (Nick E. Tarabay) be off limits now due to the film versions? Will the eventual movie based on The Flash affect the CW's television series? Only time will tell.
So what do you guys think? Do you think Warner Bros. should let the CW have some free reign? Do you prefer that Warner Bros. can intervene with the show due to plans on film side of things? Will this eventually affect The Flash television series? Leave your thoughts in the comments section below!
