Official Description For Season Three Of ARROW Teases What's To Come

Following last night's explosive finale, The CW has released the official description for season three of Arrow. It teases a larger role for Roy Harper and The Canary, as well as a new role for Thea Queen as she aligns herself with...well, hit the jump to find out!

After a violent shipwreck, billionaire playboy Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) was missing and presumed dead for five years before being discovered alive on a remote island in the Pacific. He returned home to Starling City, bent on righting the wrongs of his family and fighting injustice. To do this, he creates the persona of the Arrow and allies himself with former military man John Diggle (David Ramsey), computer-science expert Felicity Smoak (Emily Bett Rickards), street brawler Roy Harper (Colton Haynes) and international assassin Sara Lance (Caity Lotz), while keeping his secret from those closest to him including his sister Thea (Willa Holland), who has allied herself with his most deadly enemy. Rivalries and allegiances will shift as Oliver faces his most difficult challenge yet. Based on characters appearing in comic books and graphic novels published by DC Entertainment, ARROW is from Bonanza Productions Inc. in association with Berlanti Productions and Warner Bros. Television, with executive producers Greg Berlanti (“Green Lantern,” “Brothers & Sisters”), Marc Guggenheim (“Eli Stone,” “Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters”), Andrew Kreisberg (“Warehouse 13,” “The Vampire Diaries”) and Sarah Schechter.

@ Batmaniac

Yes Wildcat to train Laurel. I've been saying the same thing. Surely they will do it and hint at the Justice Society somehow.

I'm hoping the whole Hong Kong thing is leading to Lady Shiva as well. That would be mind blowing.

Anyway, I'm out for the night

Just saw the finale, and they've certainly set up quite a bit for next season. Surprised Sarah will be coming back, and with a possibly larger role, considering the way her story ended in the episode (really trying to avoid specific spoilers...)
I think, for the first time in the series, I'm actually way more interested in the flashbacks for next season, they're going to be way different and could be so much better.

As for what 'big bad' could replace Slade next season; they've teased Ra's Al Ghul long enough, so I'd like to see The League of Assassin's become the main villains for the next season (and maybe even Season 4). However, Season 3 could also focus on the stuff going on with Thea (again, trying to avoid spoilers...)

I think what they've done with the series is also going to make things difficult though. I mean, they've tried so hard to emulate The Dark Knight Trilogy, while relegating a lot of Green Arrow's villains from the comics into "Villain of the week" roles (who've often been killed off), that there's not a lot more they can do without pulling in villains from even further into the DCU. And, despite the introduction of superpowers with Mirakuru and the Flash, I still don't think it fits into the DC Cinematic Universe. There's no way, I'd never buy an alien invasion happening in the Arrow Universe, yet that's exactly what happened in Man of Steel. I'm not saying Arrow isn't good enough for the Cinematic Universe, I'm just saying it doesn't fit. It's like, The Dark Knight Trilogy would never fit into the DC Cinematic Universe either, I could never imagine Nolan's Batman meeting Superman.

Three good guys i like to see
#1 Ted Grant aka Wildcat
#2 Ted Kord aka Blue Beetle (Hey, his name has been mention many times and so has his company)
#3 A Green Lantern (does not have to be powered up...yet)
Three bad guys i like to see
#1 Lady Shiva
#2 H.I.V.E.
#3 Lex Luthor (Come on, Queen Consolidated stocks were doing good and now they are without, AGAIN, a CEO)

Three Anti-heros
#1 Ra's al-Ghul
#2 More Deadshot
#3 did i mention more Deadshot?

I missed it too. I know people are saying Ra's, but I can't imagine that's what made him giddy. Also, wasn't there some business about Oliver not being the first vigilante a while back? They never picked up who the first vigilante was, right? Finally, so last night, am I the only one who was hoping for Harley Quinn to pop out of one of those cells?

What about the Arrow not being the first vigilante?... Was anything said about that? Or could it be that Harley Quinn would allude to the first vigilante being Batman?

1. Laurel needs to quickly take the Canary jacket off. Sorry- unless there is another time jump and she has trained for years I will not accept her over Sarah.

2. I guess Roy trained while we were all asleep because any training they showed of Roy was him sucking at everything except bitch fits, pouting and back talking Oliver.

3. SUPERMAX was introduced LOVE IT

4. R'as Al Ghul needs to appear next season- it's only logical.

5. Diggle let out all of the Suicide Squad from their cells and DAMMIT!! I didn't get a Harley Quinn cameo. Oh well.

6. It would have been so sweet if Barry Allen had showed up.

7. A Merlyn/Slade face off.... I was robbed. That needs to happen.

8. Thea is finally the full fledged brat I didn't want her to become. Hopefully Merlyn beats that out of her.

9. Alright Felicity pump the brakes....you are only setting yourself up for heartbreak. She makes it so painfully obvious that he can have her that he should never want her. Play coy. hook up with someone else Felicity...notice Ollie got a bit jealous when you were paying more attention to Barry? Have some pride- don't throw yourself at him.

10. N'yssa YES GIRL! Break those necks! Superman isn't the only neckbreaker in DC. In mid villain sentence Isabel just eats it- loved it.

@AC1 You never think an invasion (alien or otherwise) will happen until it does that is why it is always a surprise. Do you really think the character in Man of Steel were accustom to an alien invasion? Why do you think Perry did not want to run Lois's story?

I'm going to get some hate for this, but how did we not get a season finale mainpage article for AOS??? Season finally was awesome, loved how they poked fun of the villian returning with Bill Paxton strapping in to the machine. Then Colsoun blasting him. Sh*t was epic! Anyway, I haven't seen Arrow season finale yet. So looking forward to it tonight. Love this show. I agree the name drop was kinda dissapointing. I'd love to see Ra's and if it's not connected to the DCCU They can totally bring him in and have him in the movies too. Can't wait for Flash.

Well that's a good point, we know there is Harley Quinn, if HQ is there, then there HAS to be a Joker, and if there's a Joker, there has got to be a Batman. So yeah I'd say he's definitely not the first.

So I'm guessing next season will get into Yao Fei's bloodline and how that ties into Chyna White. She wears the same tattoo as Shado. Also, there's only one DC character I can think of from Hong Kong: Sensei! the father of Ra's a Ghul.
I'm hoping that the flashbacks eventually take Ollie to Nanda Parbat, but I have a feeling it's going to detour through League of Assassins territory first.
JasonBlue
JasonBlue - 5/15/2014, 6:56 AM
I think a small cameo from Stephen Amell or Grant Gustin in Lex Luthor's surveillance cameras would suffice for BVS. No need to be more tied in. Also... Can we please get Ryan Reynolds back as Hal? I can't imagine anyone else with the star power or acting chops who could play Hal or even AGREE to play Hal. I would take Matt Damon over Ryan in a heartbeat but, that will never happen.

@Baronnes I agree with all your points. Spot on.

If Harley Quinn is the evidence we have to Arrow not being the first vigilante, I'm good with it. God I wished she would have popped out of one of the cells. I, however, feel it is weak if Ra's is the namedrop that made him giddy. Oh well. If Ra's comes in next season, it's cool. It looks like ARGUS will have a big influence over next season. Also, looks like Oliver went through some serious shit on that island.

@sicknimon No hate here, but, I may be one of very few that felt underwhelmed by the AoS finale. Admittedly, I didn't like AoS much in the beginning, but really started enjoying when all the Hydra stuff was going on. Bill Paxton didn't sell it enough for me in the finale, he seemed really cheesy. Just my opinion. Also, Deathlok looked terrible. I think they could have done so much better with his look.

@rabid - Ollie never went to Nanda Parbat, but he's heard of the League of Assassins and Ra's Al Ghul before he came back to starling city so u may be onto something.

AOS is cheesy because it's soundtrack is super Disney and their production crew are shit.
