FOX has released the new promo for the "The Trial of Jim Gordon" which isn't actually a trial at all, but a hallucination Gordon experiences after a near-fatal gunshot wound that could have some seriously deadly real-world consequences for the good detective.

Elsewhere, Poison Ivy (Peyton List) resurfaces and makes a lasting impression on Bruce Wayne (David Mazouz), which leaves Selina Kyle (Camren Bicondova) to fend for herself when the future Batman seeks out her head. Meanwhile, Lee Thompkins (Morena Baccarin) also finds herself in the crosshairs while both Barbara Kean (Erin Richards) and the Penguin (Robin Lord Taylor) plot their next moves.

Series star Ben McKenzie wrote the episode while his former on-screan fiancé, Erin Richards, directed the hour, which means fans should be in for quite the treat.

Ehh, probably the weakest episode of the season. Thought it was just 'good/alright' tonight, whereas we have consistently had very good to great for the last several weeks.

@HeavyMetal4Life - Probably have to blame Fox for that, pretty sure this is one of the additional 2 episodes, that were made after they filmed the finale. Already had the 10 episodes, so they couldn't exactly add anything to the story, so this and probably the next episode will probably be stand alone

Disappointing episode tonight. Although S5 has been great so far, so I'll take a bad egg every now and then. I'm just really... Really hoping this show can stick the landing for the series finale.

@KWilly - yeah that was my thoughts. The first 'post Jeremiah' episode certainly showed how much of an impact his absence had.

@KWilly - Pretty sure this was one of the additional episodes they ordered, when they were almost done with the season, so the quality is probably fox's fault. seriously they only needed 12 episodes to get to 100, why order only 10 and not 12 to begin with

Off-topic: new eps synopsis for Supergirl 4x15, Arrow 7X16 and The Flash 5x17.

SUPERGIRL
“O Brother, Where Art Thou?” — (8:00-9:00 p.m. ET) (TV-PG, V) (HDTV)

JON CRYER GUEST STARS AS ICONIC DC COMICS’ VILLAIN LEX LUTHOR — Secretly furloughed from prison due to failing health, Lex Luthor (guest star Jon Cryer) visits his sister, Lena (Katie McGrath), to seek her help finding a cure. Savvy as ever, Lena is suspicious of Lex’s motives but when she’s faced with a life and death situation, she must decide how she truly feels about her brother. Meanwhile, Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) and J’onn (David Harewood) face off against Manchester Black (guest star David Ajala). James’ sister Kelly (guest star Azie Tesfai) comes to town. Tawnia Mckiernan directed the episode written by Derek Simon & Nicki Holcomb (#415). Original airdate 3/17/2019.

My only concern is that they will decide to get rid of Lex with this one way or other instead of keeping him around for future plot lines if they really choose to go with an evil Lena plot which would be a step backwards IMO. At best Lex survives thanks to her cure but his survival also paints her on a bad light. And seems Manchester is the only remaining member of the The Elite, hmm.

ARROW
“Star City 2040” — (8:00-9:00 p.m. ET) (Content Rating TBD) (HDTV)

FLASH FORWARD TO THE FUTURE — Mia (guest star Katherine McNamara) and William (guest star Ben Lewis) venture into the Glades on a dangerous mission. There they run into Dinah (Juliana Harkavy), Roy (Colton Haynes) and Zoe (guest star Andrea Sixtos) who deliver some devastating news. The flash forwards share highlights from Mia’s childhood with Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards). James Bamford directed the episode written by Beth Schwartz & Oscar Balderrama (#716). Original airdate 3/18/2019.

Mia's flashbacks must be related to the news they get, but the writers adore Felicity so maybe it will be something else that relates to the bombs that mysterious person with 2040!Rene was talking to which is apparently connected and about how their mission to stop them got more difficult.

The summary just mentions Felicity, so she was raised by her. Just her and no future!-esque Oliver? I remember Stephen Amell teasing this with "Holy Smoak" on Twitter so I will bet he appears in it too in her flashbacks.

THE FLASH
“Time Bomb” — (8:00-9:00 p.m. ET) (Content Rating TBD) (HDTV)

NORA DECIDES TO TELL BARRY AND IRIS THE TRUTH ABOUT THAWNE — Team Flash finds out that a suburban mom named Vickie Bolen (guest star Catherine Lough Haggquist) is in danger and they race to save her. Upon meeting her, they discover she’s a meta-human who is hiding her abilities from her family. Barry (Grant Gustin) encourages Vickie to share her secret with her family, which makes Nora (Jessica Parker Kennedy) realize she needs to come clean with her parents about Thawne (Tom Cavanagh). Rob Greenlea directed the episode written by Kristen Kim & Sterling Gates (#517). Original airdate 3/19/2019.

No sign at all from Cicada nor much info of what the rest are all up to or are going through after the last encounter, seems they managed to "beat him" this time if they can focus on something different. Gonna assume he's at Iron Heights, could lead to a new kind of direction to the story if he's really in the same wing as former Rogues villains are.

Going to assume as well that the suburban mom's meta abilities are literally what the title hints at, further prompting at Nora to get that big skeleton off her chest in case or before it is too late and something happens to them instead of taking it with herself to the grave. And after this, the Godspeed episode.
