Before there was Batman, there was GOTHAM. Everyone knows the name Commissioner Gordon. He is one of the crime world’s greatest foes, a man whose reputation is synonymous with law and order. But what is known of Gordon’s story and his rise from rookie detective to Police Commissioner? What did it take to navigate the multiple layers of corruption that secretly ruled Gotham City, the spawning ground of the world’s most iconic villains? And what circumstances created them – the larger-than-life personas who would become Catwoman, The Penguin, The Riddler, Two-Face and The Joker? GOTHAM is an origin story of the great DC Comics Super-Villains and vigilantes, revealing an entirely new chapter that has never been told.

Yeah, overall a boring show. Penguin is the only reason to watch and even his scenes are mediocre now... his revenge plot in and of itself is fairly basic. Hope Joker doesnt appear as that will just hammer in the fact that they need Batman for the majority of these villains to work.

"Does this show suck?"

Matter of perspective, though the general consensus on here is yes.

"Not Riddlers Love intrest again"

Pretty sure they are changing his origin story and are going to kill her off at some point in order to make him snap.

I stuck with this show every week and generally liked it (some weeks just barely tolerated it), but the mid-season break has made me lose all interest. RLT's Penguin lost its luster for me, and I even liked Fish for a while there, but... meh.

Unless they do something to shake up the constant prelude vibe, I'm done. Kill Barbara and I'll give it another chance.

I'm looking at the second pic and I'm dying to know what the [frick] happened to Penguin and Boss Maroni! Something is definitely going down.

Kill this show and throw it in the Gotham River!

Why can't people who oppose this show just put it in their minds as an "Elseworlds" story? You'll be leagues happier about it. Just like in Arrow, Oliver is that Elseworld's Batman.

@TheRealIntruder No the show does not suck.If you like gritty cop shops with a flash of comic book theatrics thrown in on a occasion you should give it a try. But if you want Batman then you will never be happy with it, like the fanboys on here.
@ForcedAccount You summed up both this and Arrow nicely.

It's not a great show, but I think most people are way too hard on it. Remember how Agents of Shield was in S1? The first half was awful and pretty much everyone complained about it. And then out of nowhere it started getting better and better and now it's a great show. I think Gotham has actually started better than AOS did, I'm not saying it'll become as great, but who knows.

At the very least, I think Harvey and Gordon make it watchable. They did a real nice job of casting there.

Is the girl that Riddler is hitting on supposed to be like Harley Quinn or something? Feels like they might shoehorn that in or something.

I know it's a trend to diss GOTHAM (it started as soon as it was announced), but for me it's the CB show I look forward the most each week. Yes, the Flash is good, but strip away it's episodic few ultra-cool FX shots and it's not up to par. GOTHAM delivers on acting, cinematography, direction, music and plot development. The dialogue scripting needs to be improved, but rhe overall quality got quite better over the course of the last 5 episodes.

I hope they can fix Nigma. He just makes me cringe every time I see him on the screen.
