I think this is a decent show so far but I feel like they force Jada down our throats every other scene and her character is so one dimensional that it drives me nuts. Less Jada and more story is what this show needs. it also doesn't need the traditional "solve the crime in an hour" nonsense. Make it a cross between True Detective, The Shield, and Justified.

I like Jada's character so far, it reminds me of Waller in a bad way hahaha.

Would like to hear someone call her by her first name...Felicia Mooney and hopefully they do include Penguin's iconic umbrella in this episode instead of just showing Cobblepot expanding his reach within the the gangster community.

The acting in this show could be better.

I just watched episode 4 and I have to say I'm relieved. The first episode was okay (say, a 7), then the next dipped...(6), then the Balloonman episode's tone was all over the place and borderline unwatchable at times (4)...

But then that last episode finally had all of the parts working together properly. The only significant complaint I had was that they keep wasting time on Barbara's pointless character. A solid 8. If they keep level of quality up, I'll stop putting off watching them for nearly a week.

I want to like this show, it has all the pieces to make a great show. But all the batman references and easter eggs make it cringe worthy at times.

I'm loving this show. It has performed well beyond my expectations, although I'm still a bit jittery over how long they'll be able to float a Batman show with no Batman.

Barbara is literally always in her apartment... oh unless she's at GCPD. She has no life. She's just like waiting for Montoya to break in and start lesbianizing with her.

@JasonBlue

During the last episode, when she was walking away from Gordon, I was literally shouting "go bitch! just go!"

Scared my cat.

If they can focus the show on the broader criminal underworld of Gotham, and find some way to break the definitively expected continuity (a well-established character like Alfred dying, for instance), then I think the show could step out of Batman's shadow and potentially become something really great.

But if they play the whole series building toward a Batman that will never really happen and his villains-to-be, rather than just doing them, then it will get tired real fast.

I forget where I heard this, but essentially a story should be about the most interesting point in the characters' lives (if not, then you should be telling that story instead). Gotham is in danger of being a show about "all the stuff that happened before it got really exciting". That's not a good show to be.

@Spock0Clock LOL

Dude could have had it all... rent free penthouse, threesome action, a girlfriend that has no life outside of her apartment. YET he chose to be homeless.

I was hoping this show was more like The Sopranos or Goodfellas movie...more a realistic take on the criminal underground of Gotham...Think a show with that style darker tone would be awesome...

Great tv show. Not certain why they are forcing in all the gay stuff. It takes away from the show. Otherwise great casting, stories, dialog and look
