Screencaps From The GOTHAM Pilot - Is This Our First Look At 'The Joker'?

Bleeding Cool have managed to get a look at the pilot episode of Fox's Batman prequel series, and they've provided a few screencaps -- one of which gives us a glimpse at a young stand-up comedian who may just be our future clown prince of crime..

The site don't get too SPOILERY; instead giving us a broad outline of what to expect from the show. They, like many other early reviewers, are very postive, calling Gotham "better than Flash. And Constantine. And Arrow. And Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. It’s the best TV pilot based on an English language comic book I’ve seen." High praise indeed. You can click the link at the bottom of the page for their full report, but below we have some of their screencaps. There's young Selina Kyle, Gotham PD precinct, Edward Nigma (who's a police pathologist here), Renee Montoya, and a stand-up comedian from Fish Mooney's club. Could this be our first look at the Joker to be? Or just something to throw us off the scent?

The series follows one cop, destined for greatness, as he navigates a dangerously corrupt city teetering between good and evil, and chronicles the rise of the great DC Comics Super-Villains and vigilantes. The entirely new, untold chapter comes from executive producer/writer Bruno Heller (“The Mentalist,” “Rome”) and stars Ben McKenzie (“Southland,” “The O.C.”), Donal Logue (“Vikings,” “Sons of Anarchy”) and Jada Pinkett Smith (“Hawthorne,” “Collateral”).

I hope they don't spoil the Joker by spreading him over the entire length of this series. If he ever does show up I hope his origin is a complete mystery - and it will always stay that way. Origins for heroes is cool, but a villain like the Joker doesn't need that kind of treatment. When he appears, he should be just the Joker from the get go.

I will watch this series.

While this show may be great, I hate that they're going to explore Joker's origin.

He looks like Gordon to me. But that doesn't surprise me. I thought I saw McNy on CNN today. But I realized it was probably Don Lemon or President Obama.

I'm too racist to differentiate between people of the same ethnicity is what I'm trying to say.

This has the Smallville feel...all of Batman's villains will show up before Bruce is old enough to actually go around the world and train. Funny since he is kinda responsible for the creation of some of his villains.

If they do the Joker's origin, it should purposefully ambiguous. Introduce multiple characters that reference the Joker's origins, but never make one the specific version.

^^^ I love the idea of multiple people being introduced with different elements of different Joker origins. This guy could turn into the Joker, or that other guy. One thing, I don't want to see the Joker till we see Batman. And I know if they don't time jump in the next season, they will without a doubt screw up the Joker.

How about they never use the Joker because the Joker is Joker because of Batman. Pretty much Joker's entire reason for living is to be Batman's nemesis that is what he lives for. I am waiting for every time Bruce Wayne is shown there will probably be a bat or some heavy imaging of a bat because it might be to subtle for some people to realize he will become Batman.

So wait you mean to tell me its said no where not even hinted at that this guy is the joker.....and all of a sudden people jump to conclusions?

Shouldn't the Joker be around the same age as Batman? Or younger?
No point having him around without Bats. Why didn't the do a Gotham Central show wit Batman as a background character? Or a Batman show? Like Arrow. No big budget needed there.
