CRISIS ON INFINITE EARTHS Crossover Adds SUPERNATURAL Vet Osric Chau As The New Atom Ryan Choi

While "Crisis on Infinite Earths" has begun filming, it appears there are still a number of guest stars that have-yet-to-be announced and the latest addition is Supernatural vet Osric Chau as Ryan Choi!

TV Insider reported yesterday that Osric Chau (Supernatural) has joined the cast of the upcoming "Crisis on Infinite Earths" crossover in a recurring role as Ryan Choi, who, in the comics, is the second person to become The Atom.

The character is being described as a physics professor at Ivy Town University. He is just a normal guy who comes to learn that he has a pivotal role to play in the coming crisis. Additionally, the early word is that Choi will indeed suit up as The Atom during the crossover, taking up the mantle from Ray Palmer (Brandon Routh).

On another note, while it hasn't been confirmed, it wouldn't be a stretch to assume Chau will ultimately make his way over to DC's Legends of Tomorrow next year, especially considering that original series star Brandon Routh is expected to depart the series with Courtney Ford (Nora Darhk) midway through the upcoming season.

Chau is the latest special guest star to join the massive "Crisis" ensemble, joining Tom Welling as Smallville Clark Kent/Superman, Erica Durance as Smallville Lois Lane, LaMonica Garrett as The Monitor/Anti-Monitor, Tyler Hoechlin as Earth-38 Clark Kent/Superman, Elizabeth Tulloch as Earth-38 Lois Lane, Jon Cryer as Lex Luthor, Cress Williams as Black Lightning, John Wesley Shipp as Barry Allen/Earth-90 Flash, Johnathon Schaech as Jonah Hex, Kevin Conroy as future Bruce Wayne and Burt Ward in an undisclosed role. Additional Black Lightning characters are also expected to appear, but it's not entirely clear which ones just yet.

Both Brandon Routh (Legends of Tomorrow) and Tom Cavanagh (The Flash) will be pulling double duty for their respective shows. Routh will suit up as both The Atom and Kingdom Come Superman, while Cavanagh is expected to play Pariah in addition to the latest iteration of Harrison Wells.

"Crisis on Infinite Earths" begins with Supergirl on December 8, followed by Batwoman on December 9, The Flash on December 10 and concludes with an Arrow/Legends of Tomorrow double header on January 14, 2020.

Didn't really think about them introducing any new characters but this is really exciting!

Also, it has been confirmed that Huntress from the Birds of Prey show will be returning too!

COIE is the best event in the history of comic books and I just hope they can do it some justice.

Could be ray is wiped out in the crisis to make room for this new Atom. I hope that Hoechlin's Superman survives the crisis, I like him in the role. Its starting to feel as if the crisis will indeed roll all the earths into one, so Supergirl and Black Lightning can cross over with all the other heroes, BL finally and Kara much more easily. And maybe the end will be the heroes of the united earth forming a league of justice.

Well, I can definitely tell that this site is NOT frequented by comic book aficionados. Because not a single one of you is picking up on the glaring error in the article...Ryan Choi is NOT the 2nd Atom. Ray Palmer was the 2nd Atom, the first Atom was Al Pratt. Furthermore, Ryan Choi wasn't even the 3rd Atom. He was the 4th. There was a brief period between the two where Adam Cray took over, but only in the pages of Suicide Squad. And if you're REALLY getting technical, then you could consider Ryan Choi to be the 5th and most recent Atom, as Grant Morrison created a version of the character in 1999 who sucked.

The tailor behind Flash's S5 suit, nice. I wonder how his interaction with Ray will be like and if he will adopt a more comic accurate Atom suit.

This is all turning out to be very good.
