HBO held an event earlier today to mark the European launch of its HBO Max streaming service, and we were treated to a new glimpse of Peacemaker, Warner Bros.' first big budget small screen project set in the DC Extended Universe (spinning out of the events of The Suicide Squad movie).
In this sneak peek, we see John Cena's Christopher Smith meeting with members of A.R.G.U.S., including Jennifer Holland's Emilia Harcourt and Steve Agee's John Economos. They were tasked with working alongside the Task Force X alum in The Suicide Squad's post-credits scene as part of Amanda Waller's retribution for the role they played in overruling her during the Corto Maltese mission.
The group clearly isn't intimidated by Peacemaker as they make fun of both his ridiculous costume and the fact that he has a pet eagle name "Eagle-y." The teaser ends with a new logo for the series and the promise that it will arrive on HBO Max sometime in January 2022.
The video was accompanied by the brief synopsis, "He's got the looks, the car, and the best sidekick ever -- all in the name of peace."
