Martian Manhunter's powers could help Kara with this secret identity issue.

This show is awesome. People praise Flash and Arrow but hate (not just dislike but hate) on supergirl despite being made by mostly the same people. Why? Because personal bias and bs starts to show.

It's probably the same people who see "feminism" everywhere and think their white masculinity is being marginalized.

Haven't watched this yet. The marketing made it seem unbearable. Does anybody know if this is worth watching? Other than Red Tornado, all of the character designs looked pretty good thus far.

Honestly this show started pretty bad, but it's getting so much better.

@HarrowRed it's not the greatest superhero property on the market but the actress plays a convincing Kara and she does struggle with anger in the show, which supergirl has been known for. The origins are different than new 52, etc, but it's a good (I emphasize good) show for fans of the character, imo.

It has a good amount of heart, even if it's clearly maDE for a different demographic than say Arrow.

Here's one of my favorite scenes

@Nomis the Martian Manhunter reveal was really well done. I got a little teary eyed, just a little.

@MexicanSuperman So, fanboys then? Cause Jessica Jones had more "female empowerment", which I don't have an issue with. Go feminism, and I mean real feminism, where equality is the concern. But dont pretend Supergirl is more "lol feminist" than Jessica Jones.

Your bias is showing. Zip up.

DC and marvel both rock.

@Nomis the show has given me chills 3 times. For that alone, as a cb nerd, I love the show.

@MexicanSuperman Dude, I don't really care if you like it. I respect your right to have an opinion but you literally opened with the very thing I mocked.

And maybe you're a super awesome guy in person but I can't really take opinions coupled with claims of feminism seriously.

@nomis yea, the actreSS is awesome. I almost wish she was the dceu's supergirl because she completely nails rage. And I think that's important to the character.

Manhunter looks legit but probably gonna wait till this pops up on Netflix.

Cat actually knowing and suddenly respecting Kara is good stuff (Berlanti's best work seems to be surrogate parent/child relationships).

But all of the actiony, comic booky, science fictiony stuff is pretty weak. And the love polygon is just dumb. And outside Benoist (who is doing her damnedest to be everything people want her to be) and occasionally Flockhart, there's not a whole lot going on in terms of performance.

Benoist and Supergirl deserve better than this show. And seeing as Berlanti's other shows seem to slip in terms of quality once he moves on to other projects, I'm not hopeful for Supergirl's future prospects.

In the past, I've said they should move this show to the CW-verse with some universe hopping shenanigan, but if it means losing Cat Grant, then I'm not so sure.

Maybe Kara becoming a mentor to the CW-version of Cat (who is still a lowly gossip columnist), then it could work. But I'm pretty sure it's Flockhart's paycheck that is bloating the budget so there's no point to make the move.

@Spock0Clock I get that perspective. I do and I respect how you put it.

I agree to a certain degree with many of your points. The shows strengths have been the main two performers, while the supporting cast I think has a lot of potential but haven't had a significant impact on the show in terms of story or performance. I think that's more to do with the story. It hasn't really called for or demanded much yet.

I like Jimmy though. He sometimes has that charm (not charming, which he is sometimes) or innocence that I would expect from the character.

Many people make a fair point. The writing isn't revolutionary but I don't think it needs to be and nor did the character of supergirl ever have very many really deep and compelling stories, imo. Perhaps I'm being snobby, I apologize if so.

But the writing isn't bad. I've seen bad. Again, at least in my opinion. I'm not trying to brow best anybody into agreeing with me. I fully accept that the show has some weaknesses but many won't accept that the show has strengths. Not you per se.

Either way, I watched some episodes with my niece while babysitting and it was really cool to see her light up. Because we do need more female superheroes.

This show is awesome!!!! Yeah there are a few cringe worthy moments in the show but all the awesome makes up for it!

Also the ratings are solid.....7 million viewers on average...and that is going up against MNF and Gotham!!!!!

On that, I definitely agree completely. Not every male-driven superhero show has been great (or even good) all the time, but it does seem like Supergirl has to "justify its existence" to some people in a way that other shows haven't. And that's a shame.

@ballZ

LOL! Your opinions are $hit....you love to troll DC all the time.

And am I a ten year old girl looking for romance? Such a stupid question from a stupid person! Are you a 10 year boy flinging stupid insults looking for attention?

LMAO! 7 million viewers disagree with you, also how do you like that DCTV is kicking ass.....you know like Gotham, Supergirl, Arrow, iZombie, and The Flash which is doing better than AOS!!!!!

And we still have several more shows coming like..

Legends

Lucifer

Krypton

Preacher

So deal with it!

I will give you one point for Constantine...not because it was terrible but because it got cancelled. But hey it was NBC, they cancelled Hannibal!
