The ending of tonight's Supergirl saw Alex make a big decision to protect Kara (Melissa Benoist) as she chose to wipe her mind and forget that her adopted sister and the Girl of Steel are one and the same, which is going to lead to some big-time drama this time next week.

Meanwhile, the hour will also see Kara join Nia (Nicole Maines) on a trip back home where she meets Nia's parents and helps her take the next step in her superhero journey.

"Blood Memory" - (8:00-9:00 p.m. ET) (TV-PG, V) (HDTV)

Season three saw Supergirl stop Reign and the other Worldkillers’ threat to humanity and our planet, and in the process, Kara was shocked to find her mother Alura alive and living in a salvaged Argo City that survived the destruction of Krypton. Reconnecting with her past caused Kara to realize that her true home is now here on Earth, where big changes are taking place for her and all of her friends in National City – and also, it appears, for a doppelganger in Russia! Season four promises to be full of surprises, action, adventure and lots of big revelations for Supergirl, Alex, James, J’onn, Lena and Brainy.

Supergirl features:
Melissa Benoist as Kara Zor-El/Supergirl
Mehcad Brooks as James 'Jimmy' Olsen/Guardian
Chyler Leigh as Alexandra 'Alex' Danvers

David Harewood as J'onn J'onzz/Martian Manhunter
Katie McGrath as Lena Luthor
Jesse Rath as Querl Dox/Brainiac 5
Sam Witwer as Ben Lockwood/Agent Liberty
Nicole Maines as Nia Nal/Dreamer
April Parker Jones as Colonel Haley

Wiping one's mind of a certain range of time is far-fetched enough, but wiping it of a specific memory that goes back even more than a decade? That memory's going to be intertwined with other memories. Trying to separate all that stuff out wouldn't be possible. Besides, why? Anyone going to Alex for info on her adopted sister would already be on to the fact she's Supergirl. Alex not knowing might do more harm than good. If she doesn't know to withhold info that seems unimportant from a captor which she might withhold if she knows... Flawed logic in this show as usual. But yeah, it's fictional.. They could still try not to make it dumber than it has to be.

The CW shows are as bad as AoS. They are awful. I stopped watching all of them after Kaitlyn became Killer Frost like Bruce Banner becomes the Hulk.

The episode was good, I think we haven't seen the last of that "truth seeker" alien just yet.

Jimmy and Lena making up was welcomed, it takes time to be open minded to new stuff specially to the idea of your girlfriend being so into changing the human genome to equal the playfield. But he's trying so I hope that stays that way. And it's obvious that all of the "busy" times she had were involved with more experiments, not sure if on the Harun-El rock itself or with more hearts or human experiments.

The part of the episode that surprised me the most was with Brainiac 5 admitting that he used to be on a dark path, that just opened a whole lot bag of more and new questions that I want to know. As of right now and if he was serious about not wanting to follow the norm of being a superhero back then, I can see why Mon-El and him ended up becoming friends, their journies aren't that different after all.

I take it those designs he gave to Nia are some of the same ones her descendant wore in the 31st century.

Kara and Alex will be back eventually but I am not against the status quo.

And I bet "that friend" the russians spoke of regarding their ability to control Red Daughter is none other than Lex.
